I'm not even sure if you're reading my posts anymore.
But the controls are completely horrid too
Its like they claim its the sequel to S3&K but the physics are all broken, you can cancel your momentum with so many moves and speed up by just spamming homing dashes like wavedashing in SSBM, not to mention the recycling of the lame bosses from last century, level design is also laughable for the most part.
The only good thing about the game is the homing attack cooldown which has been reduced to almost nil so you finally have a feeling of speed even when attacking groups of enemies, but that pretty much sums it up.
if they had just made it 2D with Genesis style that would have been fine with me
With that said, this game only does just enough, visually. I actually don't take much issue with the visuals. It's mostly pleasing. The only gripe I have is the cell-shaded look of Sonic during gameplay. It's just jarring and out of place. It doesn't meld well with the rest of the art direction (environments and such). On top of that, the resolution leaves me asking for better. It's just hard to look at. Why they chose to release a game like this at that res in this day and age is beyond me. I'm going to look around to see if there's any mods to bypass that.
But beyond that, I like the rest of art direction. The environments are varied and vibrant in hue. They're bursting with color and just fit the motif of a Sonic game.
