the game doesn't start. Once the launcher is open, where you select the screen resolution, I press play, the launcher closes but nothing happens.
I tried the "without Java" guide, windows xp compatibility and so on ... nothing worked

I can't help but to wonder if the Devs did this on purpose just to Troll us...:kyrieangry:
I installed Java and you can find a gcc version made by someone.

Problem come after, when you launch the program, it's ultra slow 5fps with a 4070.
ok, idk why but ramble was the problem.
you must push play button
I was able to get Sonic 4 working just now on Windows 11 24H2. Install via Steam, then install the following:

JRE 6 from here (I installed jre-6u45-windows-x64.exe):
https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase-java-archive-javase6-downloads.html

DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update from here (I installed both the x64 and x86 versions - it didn't work until I installed the x86 version):
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999

Good luck!
