Sonic 4 not working, Windows 10, Java 8.
So i recently bought "Sonic 4 Episode I" when it was on sale for the Golden sale. I try to boot the game up i get the configure menu and everything but... The game doesn't start. Nothing. After pressing the "Save settings and launch SONIC 4" button, the game on steam shows that it launches for a few seconds but it doesn't open. I have tried both of Genkisan's YouTube tutorials but the game still doesn't work. Please help.

Although I don't expect a response, on a dead, broken, bad game, I want to try the game out. I only have a Windows 10 Dell PC so i cant play it on mobile, I want to play the game so please help.

Some random guy,

afair the only time the game doesn't start is when the configuration file is missing.

Well, i need MSVCR100.dll and MSVCP100.dll . These are both included with Microsoft Visual c++ 2010. Will this work with the 2015-2019 version?

It looks like that this issue is common for Episode 1. The required MSVC installer comes with Episode 2 and not with Episode 1 for some reason.
You need to install 2010 version specifically.

You may find it in
Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010

In this case I would recommend you open a ticket on SEGA's technical support site.

Have you tried to install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions?
fanta May 7, 2021 @ 5:56am
No, It might be a special case but when i looked it up it said x64 and x86 for MSVCP100.dll and MSVCR100.dll. I'll try 64 and 32 bit after school.
