YES. That's what I want.
No, see, I want to replace the default weapon that you start with. Like, replacing the Striker's machine gun with a shotgun.
Its also useful for other things, not just starter weapon. Like lets say you notice that you dont need the Gravity Core anymore and want to replace it with damage.
Get one chance to do so per match.
I can understand people not liking Machine Gun in early game...
Butthe Machine Gun is... OP (i've started grabbing 2 whenever i can)
It is hands down the best primary weapon in Hyper Artic after the 20minute mark.
In other maps... yeah machine gun is not good due to other weapons doing way more dmge.
I want my 4x pulse rifles!!! >.<
Would be so amazing to spin around and around with the mouse and have like 40 orbs going in all directions LOL
There should be some cost associated with it though.
Maybe the replacement weapon starts at level 1 even if you've unlocked a higher starting level in the armory, or something like that.
But, yeah, getting to choose which first hand-weapon you start with would be the best.
Lazarus is stuck with dual machinegun, or lack of effectiveness
Doser is stuck with dual shotguns, or lack of effectiveness
Tombstone stuck with dual flamers, or lack of effectiveness .... etc.
Arachmech is stuck going dual machinegun, but at least can go dual something else having 4.
Or maybe its my OCD.
I mean, if so then both.
I personally dont mind starting with a weapon i dislike, as long as i have the option to eject it.
So i like the above idea of an Eject Upgrade in the Armory.
This means we aren't locked into a build and replacing things still has a cost which isnt prohibitively expensive. If replacements are added as slotting in a new weapon over an already populated slot, "Ejecting" should still be added (costing a level and the weapon being removed), once all slots are maxed out you would have to eject a slot to be able to roll any new weapons for it, otherwise a maxed load should work like it currently does giving health/armor/money.
And example could be the Striker, starting with only the machine gun and no other primary slots means you would need to eject it to start rolling primary weapon drops, and slot in the weapon you actually want, relying on other weapons to survive until the next level. While the Lazarus could merely replace its starting machine gun with a shotgun for instance as soon as one is rolled (because it has empty primary weapon slots to fill thus primary weapons can still be rolled), potentially even for the first level up of a run (losing the player the firepower of two weapons being active, or leveling up an existing slot)
I gotta say I agree with you, better than my idea of starting back at lvl 1.
This way, you eject (1 turn) you restart with a weapon option that popped up( 1 turn) and you need 8 -) 9 , 9 -) 10. ( 2 turns) meaning the cost of 4 for going for a primary weapon to lvl 10 instead of 2, that is, if you did not make the mistake of lvling the weapon you meant to replace.
Edit: This is if we are talking about the starting weapon. I personnally don't care about ejecting|replacing secondaries, dreadnoughts or passives. But, if it is in the game, all the better.
