Hi! Wow good job! Any additional feedback you can provide? What plaform did you play?
There are no additional endings.
Rifts grant you additional ink, used to tattoo yourself if for some reason you prefered to miss some enemies
I've played specifically on my PC, via Steam.
No alternative endings makes sense. The rifts being extra ink treasure puzzles is something i just did not notice. Could use better visual feedback of earning said ink upon sealing one, since the blue-ish pulse effect that happens on terrain draws your attention away from UI elements.
As for other feedback:
1) the double/triple jump mechanic makes sense thematically, but feels oh so unreliable in many places, making some platforming segments less than satisfying.
2) Sound mixing feels almost all over the place, many sound effects were waaay louder than everything else. Like in certain chase sequences i could barely hear the music over other in-game noises. Also are the breakable floors supposed to make no sound when broken? Same goes for final cutscene after final boss, in the fist fight segment, when possessed Benedict is being punched multiple times with no sound at all.
3) Related to combat jank - I've had many dropped inputs due to the way aiming slow-mo happens. It seems like slow-mo for aiming happens the moment you press the draw button, ignoring any animation-lock Benedict might be in, which can lead to slow-mo starting and ending before the gun is even drawn, after which inputs feel somewhat out of sync briefly. That's the best way i could describe it.
4) Another combat related problem - enemies love camping ledges that you have to jump on, when able. That is very frustrating to deal with even when you got the right tools, with worst example in my memory being one big demon + one medium demon camping a ledge next to instant-death ink spot, with a shield generating demon behind them waaaaay off screen . In similar sense enemies clumping up together can lead to very deadly situation where even approaching this clump of demons can lead to you nearly instantly dying from full health because multiple enemies swing at you at once. While it is quite possible to deal with, it wasn't very enjoyable.
That's the main feedback i got for now, this is very much a case of a game that i want to love but just can't. Praise of the highest order to the art team though.
Much love,
