Ridge Racer was outdated and needed a change (back then, sorry to say...)
Now, I am aware things are different today, so maybe there's a chance it will be opened to the Racing Community, but think about why Ridge Racer was left behind for a moment:

Ridge Racer was queen(?) back in the 90s because of how simple the technology and games was compared to today. By the time the 2000s arrived Racing Games has evolved; Street Races and customization, Burnout and crash physics, Racing Simulators, Open-World, and even Kart Racers has evolved.

At that point, Ridge Racer and simple Arcade Racing just isn't flashy anymore, and needed to evolved.
Yes, there was Outrun 2, made by Sumo Digitals, but how many are talking about it? Same as their other game, and the reason I stand my point: Hot Shot Racing. Praise for being an retro racer, quickly forgotten because it's just a simple racer, including myself. Similar to Outrun 2. (So why RR might survive? Again, RR is a big name with huge legacy, but it depends on how well received it'll be)

And yes, Unbounded is an "evolution" to RR. Quote on quote, because it actually wasn't meant to be Ridge Racer. Bandai Namco added the iconic name because 'Name sells' and Racing Games, primarily Arcade Racing, was in a tough situation in the 2010s by Smartphones and maybe peak Action/FPS games in main consoles, and they knew BugBear new game was in trouble...
Also, Racing Games was simple in the early days of smartphones because of power, but now it's full circle. I haven't seen any simple racer that's that good.

What do you think? Am I missing a page?
