Why is Sonic unleashed not on steam?
Instead of bringing a beloved classic game like unleashed to steam they release this hot garbage called "Sonic SuperStars". I will literally pay full price 60$ to have Sonic Unleashed on steam.

I think the biggest problem is that the Werehog didn't fully embrace being hack and slash instead still being heavily a platformer, they also should of put more work into the RPG elements because enemies still are a bit too spongy even at max stats.
Honestly, Unleashed's upgrade system should be as skill tree instead of plain stats.
Personally I like games that ditch the standard level system and use XP as a currency, another game that does that is called Prototype. It could still be both, xp currency and Skill tree.

So Prototype did a good job with it? It seems that Sonic Frontiers does the same thing but bad, that i want to get rid off XP upgrades.

Hopefully in the next 3d game they decided to lessen the upgrade routes, because having a way to upgrade speed and rings, a way to upgrade strength and defense, and a way to unlock and upgrade new abilities all separate from each other probably didn't help.

Prototype does it more like a shop screen where you can purchase upgrades using XP you got from defeating monsters or such.

I think for Sonic Unleashed that RPG problem is a combination two parts, the stat change isn't big enough and the enemy grades are too few. They didn't make many grades (blue vs red) so they need to make the red guys to still be a challenge at max stats, while they also need the red guys not to be too strong for them to introduce them early as a tough enemy. Basically if they made more grades to the enemies and spread out the stats so that the strongest still are decent enemies to max stats that would solve the problem I say there is with the RPG elements.

The main problem I had with Frontiers' skill tree was that by the time I reached the third island, EXP became completely useless as I had gotten every single upgrade available on the skill tree due to how easy EXP is to obtain and how low the skill costs are. It meant that I was accumulating EXP for over half the game with nothing to use it on.

Whereas with Unleashed, I still had to grind a good amount of EXP to fully max out all my stats even after beating the game.

Both Unleashed and Frontiers systems ♥♥♥♥. Skill tree system only is a solution, i tell you.

unleashed is too demanding to work on , very high quality game and still the fastest and best looking sonic game to date. sonic team is lazy , they rather cheap garbage wii shovelware like colors getting remastered instead of real AAA quality .

& yes unleashed does look better than frontiers, it has a way better art style aesthetic, frontiers is bland
Meh, Unwiished looks better

And learn facts at first: Colors sold and got better reviewes, so SEGA, not ST, decided to rerelease this garbage, calling outsource studio that never does job well

my point that Unleashed is trash

This is one of the reasons why I have such a high end PC. So I can emulate the PS3 version of Unleashed at 4K 60fps.

That said, I would love to have an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ port or remaster (one that's actually good, unlike Colors Ultimate) because I wanna play it on the Steam Deck at 60fps. Emulating it on the Deck with RPCS3 or Xenia is too slow.

Okay and? You don't agree with me. I don't agree with you. That's okay. But game is still trash and i'm not even trolling or baiting anyone.

It's possible that Sega lost the source code of the game, meaning that it can only be ported to PC via emulation, or remaking the entire game from scratch.

Square-Enix lost the source code to Kingdom Hearts 1, meaning that the original game had to get a remake.

Unleashed is only trash if you're like IGN and are not very good at the game.

Yeah, the game can be quite hard to beat and it does have its share of flaws like the medal system and lack of drop shadows, but it still does represent some of the finest that 3D Sonic has to offer surpassed only by the likes of the Adventure games.

Which is another reason why I'd love to see the game get a future port/remaster - not only would it be a lot more accessible to PS4/5 and Switch owners as well as a native PC version, but it could also fix some of the original game's flaws to make an already good game even better.

Unless of course SEGA decides to pull a Rockstar Games with Unleashed like they did with Origins, in this case by only making a straight port with no improvements, putting an expensive price tag on it and not bringing it to PC.

Unleashed deserves only remake

Unleashed gets undeserved hate, the game is very good. Looks goods plays great has a good soundtrack and it is very polished.

saying Sonic Unleashed is trash is along the lines of saying Empire Strikes Back is the worse in the Star Wars Franchise (I.E completely untrue)

First of all, "Saying A is the same as saying B" argument - the most stupid thing that ever exist.

Second, yes, Unleashed gets undeserved hate. It's a good game for Nintendo Wii. It has good and unique controls, great art-style, decent soundtrack (not my favourite, but good). However, Sonic Team's Unleashed is meh trash. Boost stages - the only good point of the game. Werehog is bad: slow than it should be, combat is boring: long attack animations, enemies die fast, & just looks boring thanks to very dark lighting of night stages, that you see only claw-lines. Also medals, have sense only on night stages, not boost ones where medals slow down the pacing. Additional stages are also bad because of breaking the pacing.
