The bosses in this game is ridiculous!!
Let’s like they did not play tested the game and actively punishing the fan base for loving Sonic.

Trip’s final boss is some Dark Souls level gameplay, Fang is nothing but Insta-kills! I don’t wanna hear that crap about get good or a skill issue, anyone thinking that needs to SHUT UP!!! I just watched my little siblings cry their hearts outs trying to beat this damn game! I knew I should of bought this Super Mario Bros Wonder for them. But no, I trusted Sega to actually make a decent and fun Sonic game, I was wrong! Sega lost their way. Sonic games should not be this hard that it makes little kids cry, then this game was broken when it first came out, glittered with bugs.

Y’all can say whatever you want about me, I don’t care, I’m furious that this game brought my siblings to tears.

Well said. I came through that Hell as well, which never depends on the players' skills and only infuriates them beyond human comprehension.
The game done that way, like the infamous Final Horizon final "update" for Frontiers, never deserves any respect if sega, sonic team and everybody for them don't fix everything of both about difficulty spike, level/mission design, challenges, etc., which absolutely are not reasonable made so. Nobody wants any stupid punishing games which only prove their "developpers"'s complete failure as such (and top of it filled with bugs and absolutely never playtested in the first place).

Tbf, Fang *is* the final boss of a Hard Mode in a game with infinite lives and functionally infinite HP outside of instant kill attacks/hazards. It isn't that surprising that his moveset is pretty OHKO-heavy (especially considering the other final bosses in classic Sonic games).

That aside though, Superstars bosses are generally balanced with the Emerald Powers in mind (to where, while you *can* beat all bosses without using any of them... it's still a distinct self-handicap). Learning the bosses' patterns and timing your Emerald Powers drastically helps with most of them.

If you or your siblings need help with the final Fang fight, I did write up some tips a while back that I'll post here.

For phase 1, a really big tip is that when Fang gets ready to do the laser barrier attack--he will always spawn on one edge of the screen--something you can control via your own positioning. Additionally, if he spawns on top of one of the large hills--he will retain that altitude throughout the entire attack, which lets you easily slide under and behind him.

Meanwhile, for the dive attack P1 Fang does with the four phantoms--keep in mind that their formation and flight order in the background corresponds to where and when they will strike. With that knowledge in mind, you can either time your attacks carefully when the real Fang flies by... or use the Emerald Powers to get in safe hits (Avatar, Bullet, and Slow are all good for this). If you take advantage of every opening, Phase 1 should go down pretty quickly.

As for Phase 2--keep in mind that the challenge is less hitting him, and more surviving the constant volley of his strongest attack. The nets seem to be what trips people up the most, so a major tip I have for them is to be intentionally caught (which stops the production of more nets), and mash the D-Pad/Control Sticks and jump button to quickly escape--giving you time to avoid the bullets. Also keep in mind that the bullets themselves are functionally just tiny hitboxes that are only active for a moment, so you don't actually need a lot of space/running to avoid them lol.

Finally, phase 2 pulls out a pretty nasty Egg Viper/S4 Death Egg Robot/Egg King moment. The attack can be avoided, but remain vigilant especially when the boss' nose turns yellow (you might even want to use the Slow Emerald here, since all Emerald Powers recharge after Phase 1).

I watched a 4 player co-op playthrough (which looked like a complete clusterf*ck from beginning to end) and it took them over twenty video minutes just to beat the final boss of that campaign (giant death egg mech recycled for the twelfth dozenth time) mostly from having to restart from the beginning phase over and over due to random deaths from the game glitching / janking or just deciding to kill someone out of nowhere for no apparent reason.

I don't particularly care how much of a mess the multiplayer is since I only play games alone anyway but these ridiculously prolonged and fault prone boss fights has put me off a lot more than anything else. They already went on too long as it is in Mania.

Thank you, your guide was a tremendous help, my siblings couldn’t beat it still but I was able to do it for them, they want nothing more to do with this game

The boss battles literally drag on for far too long, it becomes more aggravating than enjoyable.
The fact this trash game got nominated for best family game is a joke!

With Sega, it’s all about trying to meet a deadline than having people play test and making a actual good product.

And trying to meet a so-called "deadline" by never PRIMARLY playtesting their stuff and making actual good products is their biggest and worst mistake ever, since they only make ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of all sorts by misbehaving so. Nobody cares what "sega", "sonic team" and whoever for them think about this, no way.

This is one thing I can definitely agree on. The bosses in this game drastically hold it back because if you remove them you have what I personally consider pretty fun zones but that fun is ruined by having to fight these stupid bosses at the end of every act. Oh there's a guy here blindly defending everything about it and IMHO people like this are part of the problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKaG2RZ80G4&list=LL&index=1&t=356s

There was nothing "blindly" about it. He explained himself pretty well. It's not a "problem" that not everyone has the same opinion about subjectively-experienced video games.

Yeah it seemed blind to me tbh. I mean I'm not a fan of IGN but it genuinely seems to me people like him only praise them when a Reviewer's opinions match theirs otherwise they get mad and attack them as demonstrated there. Very childish mentality in my opinion and I hate what the internet has become for this reason.

You don't see the irony of you only selecting his video because he liked the game, then attacking him personally over it? Saying he was "blindly defending everything about it" and that he demonstrates a "childish mentality" just because he enjoyed a game more than you do (and explained why, in detail) seems pretty hypocritical.

Hypocritical? I'm pointing out the error of his ways but go on worship him like some God if you want because he has a tick next to his username. If he wants to enjoy a bad game well fine whatever but people have a right to call somebody out like what I did. Hypocritical? pffttt yeah right :/

What are you talking about? What "error of his ways"? You are engaging in the exact behavior you are criticizing. Why are you going full hyperbole and making silly claims about me "worshipping" him? I have no idea who that guy is, all I know is he explained, in detail, why he disagreed with IGN's review. There is no "problem" there.

You're missing the point. I don't have a problem with someone disagreeing with someone's opinion I do have a problem with someone outright calling an opinion "wrong" just because it doesn't match theirs then including that in the video's title. An opinion is subjective there is no right and wrong.
