Emerald Powers Wheel Sucks.
Can any one explain why it just refuses to select something no matter what you do, and the other times it's a simple quick flick of the stick and it works.
I hit all the buttons and even push in the stick, sometimes that works, other times the game just refuses to care. Sometimes I don't do that, and it doesn't make a difference,
It just has a mind of its own. That shouldn't be a hard thing to do, or if it's going to suck so bad at the basic function at least pause time for me to pick one instead of just making me standing around, or just taking hit a from boss losing 200 rings because I can't transform or use any powers.
Am I an idiot doing something wrong? Why doesn't it work consistently, why is it smooth sometimes and ignores me other times.
Yes, I have all the emeralds, yes I know once per check point, it doesn't matter, they're not marked out, the wheel just doesn't select what you have selected.

If you use the shoulder buttons to select the Emerald, there is definitely a slight delay in it "selecting". I assume this is because you can in theory keep going and it doesn't know when you want to truly stop. Using the joystick though, I didn't have a problem at all in my ~25 hours. Used a third party controller for PC/TV, and the Steam Deck's joystick.

I think there needed to be a "select" button when using shoulder buttons to do that quicker. Other than that, the joystick worked fine for me.

The main problem Ive discovered is that it deselects your power whenever you get hit, somtimes when you bounce on something, and during scene transitions.

That was incredibly frustrating especially before I had figured it out.

I have an idea now, I think maybe the game is being hyper sensitive to the deadzone on the stick, so even if it's not being touched and should be ignored it's being read at like 0.5% so the game thinks it's still being touched? I could manually adjust it for this game to increase the deadzone. Maybe that'll fix it.

Hmm. I noticed on the Switch version atleast, theres an option called "controller sensetivity" with a slider. Dont know what that is for.

Having played Mega Man 11 again recently (a good game!), it also has right-stick power selection and there it's a breeze, regardless of whether I play on Switch or Steam.
