Sonic Frontiers they were open about the bad and had the shoes as time exclusive for their newsletter with them being currently free on Steam.
Sonic Superstars they hid both Denuvo and Epic till after release, and put the Amy costume dlc as $1.49 at launch as well as not meaning to give out the comic book skin dlc.
Well that's complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from Sega. The page clearly says January 31 2024, and there's absolutely no reason why they can offer that for every other platform and not Steam.
The most likely explanation involves the Epic Games Store.
Despite requests for months prior, they never acknowledged it as a possibility that it'd be available to Steam until it suddenly appeared on the 10th with a message that it'd only be available on Steam until the 24th.
Before that two-week period, Epic Games Store was the only option for PC players. And now it has ended, it is the only free option for PC players until January.
The two possible reasons for this are that Sega would prefer players to buy it on EGS because of the higher revenue share, or that Epic Games came up with the idea during the EOS integration discussions to either suggest or financially motivate the preferential treatment.
Which is still bs. The page itself does not state anything about any time constraints regarding the promotion, and if they want to charge us the same price for a questionable at best port that is still not separated from Epic entirely anyway they can at least offer the same damn services.
Not that it would make much sense anyway, there is absolutely nobody that is being motivated to use a different platform just for a single free costume.
No one has claimed to use my extra code yet. It may still work. (probably not)
