the music Jun made is bad, but only like 6 out of the 60 themes this game have is... well... bad...
I'd recommend this for $15. It's essentially Sonic 4 Episode 3.
You will also see all these fake comments "it's 2 hours long"... complete fallacy. I'm 14 hours in and haven't beaten the 2nd story yet. There are 3 main stories. Granted, I have stopped along the way to play the battle mode and go for some achievements. But it's definitely longer than usual 2D Sonic games. The battle mode adds to the replay value and makes the price point worth it in my view.
If you enjoy 2D Sonic, you'll love this game
The first two story are a bit over 2 hours each, then the final story is a single long level with no checkpoints.
Just because you took extra long doesn't mean the game is long.
lol, if you just hold right and don't go for any Emeralds or special stages and beat every boss on the first try, maybe. For a 1st playthrough trying to do everything, there's a 0% chance anyone beat it in 2 hours.
The Mania bosses were a joke. The easiest bosses in the series. While some bosses in this game might be a tad too hard, they are so much better designed. It's about time you can't abuse vulnerability and kill every boss in 10 seconds. What a poor point to make.
1) leakers ended up building up hype.
2) youtubers hyping and speculating theories about the game.
3) fan involvement on twitter with director on. Fan Testing then seeing change in next update.
4) game spacing between games. sonic drought followed by sonic saturation. Megaman series died because it started competing with other megaman games. Multiple games and updates a year will kill the series. it needs space between games and quality into it. Sonic Frontiers was released in 2022 and had updates with in months. Super Stars was better off releasing next year. focusing on quality, building speculation, fan involvement, leakers. etc.
Most of the Mania bosses rewarded your knowledge by letting you damage them quickly, rather than sitting around watching Sonic 4 cutscene attacks that barely take a pulse to dodge, yet must be dealt with because the boss just ain't accepting damage right now.
Incorrect, all you do is take damage once, then hit the boss 6 times in quick succession before your i-frames disappear and it's over. Terrible bosses. They don't move when hit and you can just keep hitting them. No skill unless you are purposely trying to beat them with "no damage", which is your supposed "artificial difficulty" yall keep parroting about this game
Edit: Over 75% of my playtime was trying to beat the final bosses because of cheap insta-deaths
Judging a game's length based on speed running is literally the least "logic"al thing one could do.
