Game won't launch anymore

Sonic Superstars refuses to launch for me. I have tried verifying the game files, uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works. I have already played 18 hours, it seems like maybe this lines up with the recent update? At most, sometimes I'll get a window showing the EGS service updating but then nothing.

This is absolutely ridiculous, I can't play the game I paid $60 for right now.

specifically this part

Navigate to steamapps\common\Sonic Superstars and open SonicSuperstars_boot.ini.

Modify the line that says NoOperation=0 to say NoOperation=1.

Save and close.

It will at least narrow the possible reasons for the problem.

I followed all the steps in this guide and it still doesn't launch.

maybe your save data corrupted, or maybe is some setting file, did you try to delete everything about sonic superstars from your pc?

I found where the save data was located and deleted it to see if it would launch with a fresh one made. Tried it with Steam cloud on and off. Tried deleting all the files again too and verifying. Nothing is working.
