Anti-Aliasing Issues (& Other Oddities)
Hi! I was just wondering for anyone who's nerdy about graphics like me, is anti aliasing even working? I know there's an option for it but I see no difference. I can't find anything online about what form they're even using, but I doubt it's msaa or taa. It's likely a post processed form like fxaa. I'm usually not a big fan of fxaa but i forced it through nvidia control panel and found it does decently well!
The other options are reshade and super sampling. The later should give better quality and runs decently well for this game, but I'm not a fan of the blur or artifacts that may be introduced. The first option, reshade (and it's anti aliasing solutions) , worked well my first time trying, but when booting up again, it caused many issues with the game stalling, crashing, or simply not allowing effects to compile or appear. It is a 3rd party program though, and with the online function and drm, it's likely the culprit.
So yeah, idunno lol. I'll continue forcing fxaa driver side but it's odd that these settings seemly don't function in game. That and as many of us know, the frame rate selector is seemingly broken. Oh yes, you can play at a higher frame rate, but the spindash is broken, and doesn't register all charge inputs. Not only that, and correct me if I'm wrong, but rolling and other gameplay physics seem affected. Capping to 60 seems to feel much better. It's not a horrible issue, but when the game performs well and can hit those frame rates, even just allowing you to, I'd hope it would work correctly. I'm sure it would also be very confusing to people not in the know of the current standing gameplay bugs, possibly believing the game is supposed to feel that bad.
Anyway, that's it! Comment if you all have similar issues or understanding of the situation. I hope these will be fixed soon and I'm a bit disappointed that functions of the game do not work properly on release. Yee
