Anyway to prevent auto renewing Ameneties?
Seems a shame to lose 1 turn of jewellery bonus just because the city automatically start consuming the next one at next turn and takes it out of inventory. Anyway to stop it from adding and consuming the next amenity?

Currently there is no way. I'd love to see this option too.

Yes when you set up the build order you see it’s unlimited amounts it will make, you can use the + and - to alter amounts
I just set the amount used to 2 at a time. It will remind you when the queue is empty.

There is some pretty terrible reading comprehension in this thread.

OP: unfortunately no, there currently isn't a way.

I believe op means when you give an amenity to be used by a city as a bonus, such as a feast. When the amenity is used up, it automatically takes the next one from the inventory, there is no option to choose another one. This means you end up wasting amenities if you want to change it to a different one.

They should replace the message that say 'a new amenity has been spent' with something like: '1 turn remaining for a amenity'.

A simple and elegant solution.

There should just be a little button on the amenity screen that enables auto use on/off. There should also be a better indicator when there is an empty slot or a slot that has a shortage, but nothing too intrusive, as it is something that can happen often

A lot of people are asking for automations, but this one can actually be a bit annoying 'sometimes'. Thus an option to enable/disable is needed

Great thread. Agree with having the option to disable the auto-replenish or a better alert.

hmm when I used amenity I was able to cancel it and get it back like with orders. Didn't try to cancel it after auto renewal. If it doesn't work like when you use them manually then no. Just use another 1 turn before end then. It is not that gamebreaking as no production (construction) overflow and tech overflow...

It's definitely not game breaking, just a matter of convenience. Because there is no indication an amenity is almost used up (though there is a pop up the next turn when it's been auto renewed) you need to keep an eye on the city to see when it's down to one turn left.

It would just be easier to be notified when an amenity is about to end than keep an eye on everything yourself.

Yeah the notification is when the city has just consumed a new amenity making ti too late to turn off (or you CAN turn it off and loose 9 of the 10 turns of an amenity). So you need to change it the turn before. And interesting there is a notification the turn before if there are no amenities of the same type to renew. If it could give the notification then for the normal process the whole thing would be solved.

The system for this is just nonsensical. Why does the new amenity get used up on the same turn that the previous one uses its last turn?

If I run out of an amenity, and I slot a new one, then I can to remove it again on the same turn and get it back in my inventory if I want. It only gets "used" when I click next turn. Why can't I remove an automatically slotted amenity in the same way?

... does no-one in this thread notice that the game works off a queued action system, and thus no resource is spent until you hit end turn? If the city informs you it used a new amenity, you can just go there, remove the "10 turns remaining" amenity and will get it back *because it hasn't been spent, only queued to be spent*.

I'll check tonight, but I'm pretty sure when you get the notification that a new amenity bonus has been loaded, it's too late to switch, as you loose the amenity if you do. I don't think you get it back.
