Given that Eva Peron is recent history for Argentina and whose political legacy continues to be controversial, to put it mildly, the American developer's team's choice of such a divisive figure to represent the history and development of Argentina is a terrible one.

Are they ignorant of the history of this woman and her legacy as a Dior-donning socialist who was inspired by Benito Mussolini and all the censorship and the persecution of the political opponents to her husband's regime that followed? One whose 'feminism' was saying that the women of Argentina had a fanatical devotion to her husband, one in which they were told not to think?

Are the American developers simply ignorant or do they have an agenda? Argentina, you have every right to be angry at the developers of this game.

most of the leaders in these sorts of games morally suck on some level, they aren't heroes. what makes more modern leader choices difficult is that some of their effects are still impacting people strongly today.

on one hand, i want to say thanks for educating us OP and Reaper.

but on the other hand after reading wikipedia article and other things i'm reading online, i just hope that it isn't a smear campaign because she appears to be polarizing. it's easy to point out things done wrong (rather than what was done right) for anyone who has been in the public eye that long. i'm curious to know what other Argentinians think.

it would be nice if OP and Reaper would try to be more representative of what other people think, outside of people who think like them.

If devs consider to replace her, I hope they replace her with someone unique to these types of games rather than just shoehorning another military or state leader (unless there is good justification).

I read the full wikipedia on Eva Perón & Perónism, both her & her husband were syndicalists whose only negatives to Argentinians having been from Economic Inflation & Isolation. Otherwise they raised the standard of living for all workers in the country massively.

Both Reaper & Ba$ed are seemingly Anti-Perónists who are upset with her inclusion, purely for political reasons, and not because they were evil, genocidal, or committed atrocities against mankind. Neither deserve to be on a list of the worst people in human history.

They're divisive for being people that tried to incorporate socialism-adjacent ideas & raise the standards of living for the working class in a capitalist society, and for economic instability brought by Perón's obsessive nature of isolation from the rest of the world. Both times he has been in power, have been ended by US-backed coups that display a LOT of similarities to all the US backed coups in LATAM against socialist or otherwise non-aligned nations. Which is a huge part of American-Imperialism in general, taking out any alternatives to capitalism as it threatens the status quo of the US.

Wikipedia lists all of its sourcings, is heavily scrutinised, and recieves thousands of edits by people who do not want to see misinformation spread, and care about making sure that information is stored & sourced in a way that is entirely unbiased.

It is more accurate of a source than any other information on the internet because they do not accept misinformation period. You can't tell lies about anyone because the edits have to be done with a sourced reason, and if there is no source - the edit is reverted. To not trust it, is a sign that you are truly just biased.

It is so heavily scrutinised that you can't even attempt to put misinformation up there for even a few minutes without someone coming to fix it. Every single Edit on that website, requires that you have a damn good reason for it. Not some baseless conspiracy theory your dad told you.

wikipedia is not the most reliable so to use only wikipedia is not great. But as a single source it is more often more reliable than a random internet website especially because they bother to site a lot of information and for most articles that have some degree of information, there are multiple people watching it. it is also more reliable than random internet comment section.
