Furthermore the 25 last turn I put all cities on infinite science just to get to the end.
Also, even with the new update... once I get to about 7 cities the amount of mirco needed to manage everything just becomes tedious. I do enjoy the game, and I have played several starts, but usually just start over after the first age.
Usually mid way through the game there is an announcement that a new patch/expansion/dlc/ whatever will come out soon. I then stop playing in anticipation for the new content.
With Ara, I was pretty into the game, then the invisible hand patch was announced, so I stopped playing to wait for it, since generally new content doesn't apply to a saved game.
I thought I heard that a new announcement for Ara is coming soon, so I'm waiting for that before I pick it up again.
Same for me. By mid game, I just feel like I'm just going through the motions.
I mentioned before that I'm more of a combat focused player and I find combat in this game woefully wanting. I get it, combat isn't the game's focus but the fact remains that a large number of players play 4x for combat and if it isn't satisfactory in that regard, it will end up alienating a large part of the potential audience.
That said, there are a number of basic AI logic improvements, in terms of defensive strategies, which could be implemented and which would make the game at least a little bit more fun and challenging for longer that just the Transition into Act II.
