sure buddy
Yeah, exactly never understand why everyone says for free, your renting that service, paying a fee...
While I was obviously referring to people who're already subscribed, there are many ways of getting GamePass at a much reduced price, and in some cases almost free.
Almost free =/= free, paying a subscription =/= free, people who already paid for subscription getting something for paying for subscription =/= free, don't say free when you mean not free
Two options in there…
A don`t use military start.
B the game developers makes war less nice aka it can five worse bonuses, uprising owerall negative things to your civ. The problem is when the war would be too nerfed. If it is too bad, you don`t make Wars, so it can be balansing issue.
For me personally, i i find some play style too op… i don`t use it.
For example in hoi4 you can cheese with air drops… i don`t use it. You can rush ancshelosh… i don`t rush it (and now it is not so usefull as it used to be in anyway)
But if game has balance issues, better tell it to the developers. In my eyes you can play in many styles… early war just seems to be too OP in my eyes… but early war was usefull also in real history so… there is a point in that too.
Okay, I'll admit I laughed at this one a bit. I always train spearmen even if I don't need them, because I know this is coming. The events are fun, but could use some variation instead of always being exactly the same.
Also, with the spearmen quest in particular... if you "defer until later", it gets bugged and stays stuck in the list forever if you complete spearmen in time. But it never triggers the quest to complete.
I like this game and really want to see the devs succeed. Microsoft are total turds for clearly pushing them to release before they were able to finish polishing and balancing things. And then the execs moan all about how none of their studios has produced a smash hit game in several years... SIGH.
I wonder if that has anything to with dropping $60 on a game that takes longer than steams refund limit of 2 hours to even form an opinion about it?
The leaders stand out about as much as they do in Civ. Moreso in diplomacy, given that their personalities matter, rather than just some arbitrary “I like big armies” aspect.
Where the deception comes in is civilization uniques (which get tied to leaders in Civ). The lack of unique improvements and units makes leaders in Ara feel less unique than those in Civ, but in reality it’s just a difference in how a civilization is defined between the two games.
I think to make the experience richer and more varied, even on one playthrough, I'd recommend two things:
1) Lean more into resources and economic specialization. Instead of producing *everything*, produce more limited things, but make that OK. That means larger resource requirements to make chains efficient
2) Make the national effects more distinct, playing a bigger role
Excited to see where the game goes. The performance improvements have already made a big difference
