LOL - and there's the end of the discussion. Looks like OP doesn't even have the game.
Steam players are very likely a small minority for this game; most are playing for free on Xbox Game Pass for PC.
For most people though it sounds like there's a lot of replay value.
Well, I stand corrected. How do you brave souls on XBOX play it with a controller? It can't be that fun given all the little things you can click on.
Didn't know you could do that. Shows you how much I know about gamepass and xbox.
For example, I feel like there's a lot of strategies that have not yet been explored. A player could focus minimally on military or go all in. Another player could focus very heavily on masterpieces. Another player could focus heavily on blasting through the tech tree. Another player could focus on specific mid and end game goods. One player could skip triumphs all together and someone else could go triumph heavy. Another player could focus on cities far and wide while another could play semi-tall. Etc.
Remember the purpose of the game is to earn the most prestige, and there's tons of ways to get prestige. Yes you need to keep certain things in check and that will be good for almost any game, but there are multiple ways to do that each game.
Plus, you can do a lot to vary map settings, number of nations, and so forth which can greatly change how a game is played. Certain AI will hate/love you more depending on the game and also what you decided to do, how you decide to trade with them, the kind of war you want to do or not, and so forth.
