New patch causing graphics problem
I had finally had the game running at a steady 60fps with no vsync and with direct draw settings, but now after loading the new patch today the trees flicker white and the terrain looks like its made of green squares. Have tried resetting the graphics with different setting but that didn't fix the flicker.

It seems the latest patch has introduced a timing issue on certain machines, likely related to the auto-HDR detection.

If you're experiencing this issue, try the following:
Head to your display settings, turn off HDR on your main monitor, and give it another go.

We're actively investigating the problem. The only change in the update was adjusting the Vsync setting so it no longer aggressively lowers the frame rate.

Thanks for your patience with this!

We are seeing a few reports of this.

So vsync is still off?

What GPU you running by chance?

Personally ... I like the developer engagement we see here. Really positive in terms of helping get a gaming title into a position where its consumers are happy with performance and content.

Not all developers do this. I love what I see with this game in terms of new ideas, engaging the gaming consumer with systems and mechanics with a real attention to detail. I personally love it.

My issue is a bit different,
Why is my GPU screaming like a hog being dragged to slaughter in a TBS game...
It is a RTX 4080, with plenty of airflow which doesn't even spin up on Homeworld 3, Starfield or any game I have ever played... (3440 x 1440, 120Hz)

I think the issue is with the frame limit setting. I don't think it is working as intended since the GPU is hitting 100% utilization, which is practically impossible.

Noise makes it impossible to play.
Anyone else having issues with utilization?

I'm having this same problem. After 3 days of playing without issue, I'm suddenly having graphical glitches all over the place. Breaking the game in this way right before the weekend is pretty sloppy. Do you guys have any QA at all?

I can't play it this way. So, on to something else for now.

Having said that, I was rather enjoying your foray into the 4x genre. I'll continue to follow the game and most likely come back when things get more stable.

Since the upgrade Im getting trees that are white and opaque boxes floating all over the screen. I've tried changing the graphics, restarting, vsync, toggling HDR, uninstalling the game to no avail. I cant seem to roll back to the old version when I could play on Ultra with no issue. Nvidia RTX 3070Ti using driver 561.09.

Disabling HDR under Windows fixed the problem for me, but I hope you can fix it quickly because I don't want to have to keep deactivating and activating HDR.

Had the same issue and posted it under HotFix that was pinned but now seems to have been unpinned. This is exactly why i refunded it went from running fine to crashes to a disco show then to steam for a refund. Clearly they are rushing to fix things and if I wanted a roller coaster of if it will work or it wont I would rather go to Six Flags.

You don't have to, in Windows 11 you can disable Auto HDR on an App by App basis.
Just go to "Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics -> Custom options for apps" and you can disable Auto HDR in the Options for each App individually.
