Why cant i find any decent game footage?

Ive been looking and all i find is dev interviews or nation spot lights but no actual lengthy gameplay footage from online streamers.

It's crazy to me how I have both Ara and Civ VII on my wishlist, and the latter (releasing February 2025) is flooding my feed with concrete information on the game. The former (releasing THIS MONTH) posts infrequently, and the posts are nothing but first looks at nations and dev q&a's that don't really answer the questions being asked. What is with Ara's marketing?

I have pre ordered, but I am worried, not touching it until i see reviews and solid game play of combat and the late game, things they have intentionally been shady with... Can always refund THANK YOU STEAM!

When a company puts out limited information about a game, especially so close to release, it makes me wonder if the game is really playable at all. And don't say that it's because they're busy working on the game. Other companies are able to do it.

I'm quite concerned this game may be worse than Humankind. Amplitude at least allowed people to play a demo before release.; they didn't hide the game away.

I got the game as a gift but I may return ARA and wait to see what the reviews are.

Yeah That is what i recommend, I bought the special edition because I was super excited for this to tide me over until Civ 7, this studio does not have the reputation or trust with their potential market to be playing around or be keeping secrets, get it all out in the open if you are confident... I made a post weeks ago about the lack of comms or marketing and just got told to wait and that it is coming, clearly not

Yeah, there are literally only 7 business days left until release. They need to start releasing more information ASAP.

I have the same and also the same strange feeling. It should be the other way around with the amount of released information. That is why I'm going to wait and see on Ara.

I just don't get it - do they really want to sell the game or make us want to wait? Civ 7 are way more active even though their game first releases in 2025.

Yeah I really was expecting more by now. I want to see lets plays, all the civs and their abilities, the mid to end game content, etc. I know the devs don't want to "spoil everything to have surprises for us on release" but I don't like that. If people don't want to be spoiled then don't look at the videos/content release for Ara, but I am sure many of us want to see the game in great detail by now.

Exactly. Why can Firaxis do this with CIv and no Oxide? Very odd and concerning.

i understand everyone's disappointment but to compare to civ 7 seems a bit silly.

this is (i assume) a medium-budget game with little history competing against a literal juggernaut of gaming, one of the biggest game series of all time.

so i don't know what everyone is expecting, and I say this because I don't want devs to get overly discouraged or disappointed. i want their game to succeed and i hope they are doing what they can. listen to some of the feedback and give fans what they want but don't go crazy about it.

of course civ 7 will pop up more because the algorithm and the popularity of civ will perpetuate that more.

I think Civ 6s budget was eaten. Literally. Because they didn't even fix Indonesia in religion scenario. Its panteon was supposed to give +1hammer from sea boats. It gave none. I wrote multiple times but they didn't even change it. Same will be with civ 7. I was sure Humankind will not beat civ 6 as endless legend did not beat civ 5, but I am sure this game will be better in most ways than civ 7. Not sure if it will destoy it like muskets destoyed knights and archers or medium tanks destroyed machine guns and trench warfare, but it will no doubt add 'Konkurrenz' as germans say on YT reviews. Just think about simultanuous turns and auto battles in MP!!! It basically demolishes problem like who shoot first wins and makes you thinking much more strategically rather than passively react sometimes. Removal of hexes and great sound design plus huge zooming in-out is also important (it is lacking in civ and even more in Millennia). My only concern is as far as I understand there is NO unique units and buildings for nations, only leaders are different and basically mainly 1 stat is unique... I have seen screenshots with katana samurai from Ghana which is... like recent criticizing Ubisoft for adding afro-samurai in the game after afro-viking in Valhalla :). Elephants in french army and samurai in Ghana is quite immersion-breaking but I hope it get fixed/updated post-launch as they promised to add (possibly) georgian unique architecture etc... Or maybe I am wrong about units and its not enough information.
