Carefull, this game is hot.
Well, at least my GPU's think so.
2x HIS Radeon HD 7970 GHz X 3GB GDDR5 in CrossfireX, maxed out graphics (HD Pack), and the GPU #1 was at 90c while GPU #2 was at 65.
And, my CPU crashed. (45 celcius 3,7GHz).

I mean... After hours of BF3 on ultra, my cpu is at 45-50c while GPU #1 is at 70.

Souns like a cooling issue to me. Maybe you should set some fan profiles. Or get some better cooling. Each games takes advantage of hardware in its own way. What cpu do you have? Sounds like you have some sort of clock problem? Is your CPU OC'd For that matter, is your AMD 7970's OC'd?

Yea this game is a killer on running temps. my gpu is running at almost 130f while playing sleeping dogs. Usually my pc is almost 30-40f lower but I haven't cleaned my pc in 3 months.

Logged temps at 4:00pm - 10/19/12 while playing sleeping dogs.

how would it play with my gtx 690?running a intel 3770k at 4.4 ghz.think it might run it hot?

jesus! OP is right, just installed with Hi-Res pack & extreme, only using an old small monitor while i wait for a new one (1280x1024) with a GTX580.
Within a minute of the opening chase sequence, my GPU fan goes mental, feeling behind the PC is like a blow heater!
TBH, the graphics are nothing spectacular and no other game has made my GPU kick up like that, so something is not right with this game.
Also noticed, the framerates are not smooth either...can't believe got to turn settings down on a small 17'' monitor with a GTX580?!

I run a standard stock Zotac GTX 670. My temps stay between 65c and 70c on full load.. All my games max out at this thermal temp. Sleeping dogs is no different. I run 1920x1080, get a smooth constant 60fps with everthing maxed out except for the Super Sampling AA. I use the FXAA, it seem to be good enough for AA. But, from what I've read, the 500 series nor the 7000 series isn't the coolest on the block.

Holy sh*t. I just tried playing Sleeping dogs again and now the temp shot up to 160f - 165f. Just from starting the game the temp jumped 30-40f. Don't play this game till they get something fixed. Im not gonna take the chance of blowing this card up. Its' only 3 months old.

Are you new to to a PC or somthing? Here in PC land we Celsius. 160-165F is about 70c. GPU's are mean't for going that high in tempature.Granted pushing anything above 85c is not good, but a GPU can go up to 95c. A CPU can tolarate up about 70c and then you risk damage, even then most cpu's like Intel or AMD shut off at 90 or so.

Uhhhh... of course it's gonna get hotter - you started a modern game, didn't you? About 70-80 degrees Celsius aren't anything to get worried about, depending on your specific GPU of course. Many GPUs will get that hot during a normal gaming session and that's absolutely fine - they're built with that in mind.

Ive been PC gaming for the last 10 or so years. The last time I saw temps this high my computer ended up frying. Usually my both my CPU/GPU run at 80f on load. With the amount of fans im running id figure that i would maintain a constant low temp.

Whats wierd is that While playing Borderlands 2 the pc temp only changed maybe a max of 5 degrees while playing. Thats a modern game and it hardly touched the computer.

All that money spent on your gaming rigt and you go with AMD? hahahaha

I don't have any issues with temps running this game at all, (or any games for the matter) and it is concerning to me for those of you who do have temp problems.

Perhaps those of you with high temps should consider a few things:

What's the ambient temperature in the room?
When was the last time you did a case cleaning?
What else is your computer doing while gaming?
Do you, possibly, have some sort of malware that is eating resources, causing temperatures to rise because of the added workload?
Are you folding/bitcoining?
How well managed are the cables inside the computer?

My system highlights:
Radeon HD5850 @ 860/1200 (Reference design & reference cooler)
Phenom II 720 be @ 3.4Ghz (Corsair H40 liquid cooler)
MSI K9A2 Platinum v.1 790FX/SB600
4GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 @ 1.95v
Corsair TX750 PSU

My computer is in the living room of my house and the room temperature fluctuates between 69*F~75*F depending on the time of day. Even at the warmest part of the day, my GPU doesn't go above 65*C. At night, when the ambient temp is lower, It's rare the GPU will rise above 50/53*C. And this is with the stock cooler, fan speed set at 60%. Granted, I did replace the GPU thermal compound with AS5.

Additionally, even under load, the CPU rarely rises above 40*C, regardless of the ambient room temperature. Even for an entry level closed loop system, I am surprised it performs better than the high performance, high noise aftermarket air cooler I have been using for a few years. (I still have the air cooler in case the H40 dies; it's a ThermalRight XP90/Panaflo 92mm FBA09A12H1BX. Yeah, it's noisy, but I was able to OC the 720be to 3.8Ghz stable).

I clean my case monthly. We have a dog, so I like to make sure as little amount of fur circulates in my system as possible. Cleaning more than once a month is a bit overkill in my house: I could probably get away with every 2 months, but since I have my system overclocked, I don't want to take any chances.

When I got the Corsair H40 liquid cooler, I decided it was high-time I go through and spend a few hours figuring out how to tuck the cables and wiring away in my case so I could ensure proper air-flow throughout. It took me awhile, because the Apevia Xplorer case I'm using was not designed with cable management in mind, and when I bought it, I got the case for 20 bucks after MIR + free shipping. So you could say it was a steal, especially when upgrading from the 15 year old CompUSA branded case I was using. The result? Less fan noise from less restriction inside the case, and you can feel a greater amount of warm air coming from the exhaust fans.

ok whats going on lmao?
HumbleGene Oct 21, 2012 @ 12:18am
ok any graphics card that is running 70-75C is ok but if your running temps lets say 80c+ then you u might have a problem i have a GTX480 they run hot its normal for them to run 80c max load so if your graphics card is running 70c-75c its normal.

the game maybe modern but the game engine that they used to create the game isnt modern.
