I'd have to agree with you. To be fair though, there is a gap of 4 years between when the titles were released in SD's favor. GTA 5 could make SD's look like crap with all the years they have had to produce it, guess we wait and see.

I hope they do because I loved the gta series but they indeed need to step it up. IDK Hong Kong was such a nice change of pace, it actually made me want to go there now!! And wei was such an awesome protagonist!!

I think it's a great game and far better than GTA 4. Not to say GTA 4 was bad but the missions were so repetitive. That's not to say the missions in sleeping dogs aren't basically the same but they're done in a way that seems very fresh as compared to GTA 4's "just be a lackey for us forever"

I think what helped make sleeping dogs feel so much better was the split persona you get from playing an undercover cop. That is something that isn't really present in the GTA games since you are always just going around and killing people and blowing stuff up because that's what you do.

This is by far the best GTA clone made so far. However I'm a bit unsure as to whether it's better than GTA IV.

GTA IV was a study in bad porting, for the PC at least. Which did ruin much of the game for me, still I did love it. SD does have sharp controls. But I don't feel the control setup (keyboard) has a natural feel to it. The concept of using the right mouse button as the interaction button and the shift key for aiming...

Personally SD has only one major flaw, the lack of a non-3rd-person perspective when driving. I always use Cockpit, hood or bumper cam. The absence of this makes driving feel less thrilling and precise. But that's just my oppinion.

The scope of activities you can do in the GTA series is still much larger than SD. Wish there was more to explore!

Sleeping Dogs is a great game. I love the setting, the story is great, the mele fighting is fantastic and the graphics are awesome.
But to say it's better than any game in the GTA series is going a bit too far. Better than GTA IV?
Yes, I would agree with that because personally I'm having a lot more fun with it.
Better than any game in the GTA series? I don't think so and If I really had to pick just one game I'd pick San Andreas over SD but, lucky me, I don't have to and I can enjoy both SA, SD and all of the other GTA games too.

I expected Sleeping Dogs would be a close-but-no-cigar GTA clone - good, but still not quite as good as GTA. I've got a good few hours in the game now and I'm really impressed, particularly with the melee combat which I thought was always lacking in the GTA games (admittedly, melee makes up a bigger part of the action in SD than GTA).

I really hope they continue the series as it's a great game in its own right - not just as a filler until GTA V arrives.

Like others I would really love to see Sleeping Dogs ontinue with another game. The question is if United Front have enough money and backing and time From SqEnix to make the next game a serious triple A contender to GTA.
I would love it if they gave RockStar a real run for thier money because that could results in even better games from both companies.

Well not sure if they have to support to make a AAA contender. But SD is currently the only IP that could potentially challenge GTA. If supported properly that is.

I love the upgrade systems and the face meter in the game. Finding the staues to return to learn new moves was a brilliant idea.
A lot more of this to go along with an even bigger and better story along with the same number of side missions would make the next game rock and compete very well I think.

RockStar seems to have put a heavy emphasis on guns in GTA V so I think that United Front should take up the mele mantel and make it a true martial arts game. If they improved and built on that they could really shine.

THIS IS FOR EVERYONE WHO ISNT GETTING WITH THE PROGRAM!!

. So here it goes...I loved the gta series from day one. Gta 3 was like ground breaking. Ive beat every single one and thought that any other rip off game would never even compare...welll Im done defending GTA... now that other games have seen what frustrates the player..they have answered the cries and made games like sleeping dogs(True Crime: Streets of Hong Kong). This game is far more superior, the acting, the graphics, the physics, the free running flow, the driving, the fighting, the missions the story...shall i go on?! The fact that there are lots of check ppoints is amazing so u dont have to start all over when u die. the fact thaat the side missions in GTA are all the same,...there are only 5 and they repeat over and over. At least in SL they are like mini stories. Like they actually have endings EX: "Hay this guy hit me in a race can u go teach him a lesson? Sure... # missions later, Man this other guy hit me can u handle him? dam bro again ok but this is the last time" see that is a mini story so it makes it feel like there is a point to it. In GTA its just generic all around of repitition.Also, The fact that the clothes give u different perks is sweet. lets see, the fact that later on the collectables appear on ur mini map where as in gta it was a pain in the ♥♥♥ to figure out locations of the dreded hidden packages. IDk basically just say that ROCKSTAR....STEP IT UP IN GTA 5!!!!!!!!
