Weird controller issues
I need help with my game controller. I am having several issues, beginning with the main menu. Scrolling up or down skips every other option. I was able to use the menu with the arrow keys, and I got in-game to discover that RT pauses the game, and the camera won't stop turning to the left even when I wasn't moving the stick. I am using a PS4 pad with x360ce, which just turns it into a 360 pad. Help?

IMPORTANT EDIT: I figured out what was wrong, and it's a problem any controller that supports Directinput would have. x360ce is causing both xinput and directinput to be functioning at the same time, with doubled inputs. However, this game's directinput appears to be severely broken. Does anybody know if it can be disabled?

I know it isn't a controller fault cause there's no problem like this in other games. Only in Sleeping Dogs...

I'm not familiar with the Pro Controller, but I am familiar with x360ce and I remember there being lots of problems with Sleeping Dogs. I think there was a fix for it, I'll try to find out how I fixed it. What I know now is that I use a PS4 controller, and around the time I started playign Sleeping Dogs, I also started using a tool for the PS4 controler that just makes it work perfectly. Still, I'm pretty sure there's a fix that uses x360ce.

I saw this youtube video the other day showing the exact problem we have. The fix the guy said was to disable some of the HID Game Controllers in Device Manager and it would work, but it didn't for me cause I have 2 registered and both a necassary for play. Try it out, it might work for you.

Went to the x360ce forums to find a solution for you, then found your thread. From what they say, the fix I had in mind wouldn't work with your controller anyway because of the Vjoy stuff, sorry.

Anyway I'm planning to get a new controller.

I bought yesterday VX-1 pad and after spending several hours trying to figure out how to get it work finally found working x360ce setup from this thread:

Reply #15 has attached working x360ce setup, which should also work with several other games as well.

No problem with regular xbox 360 wired controller. Any problems I run into with a game usually fixed by unplugging controller and plugging back in, also usb's go out a lot might try another usb port if adjusting your emulation software doesn't work. I bought a cheap afterglow xbox 360 controller ($20) because I know xbox controller would be compatible with any game that had controller support.

If anyone is still having trouble with this issue. Forget doing any of the above, Google a controller emulator called XOutput. Run it, map your keys in the emulator to match a regular xbox controller and click the little start button in the bottom right corner when you're done. Then run the game. Confirmed working with Logitech Rumblepad 2 on Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition.
