Buying Definitive on top of the old edition

Does anyone know what happens if I were to buy the definitive edition when I already own the old version. Would the old version get replaced or would I just have two different games?

Good question, I was thinking this as well. But honestly, I am getting sick of these publishers selling these games in piece meal. They are trying to milk gamers by doing this. They should offer a discount to existing owners to upgrade. Why should I have to re-buy the game?

I agree. I hate seeing developers come out with a "complete" or "GOTY" edition that is then sold separately. It makes me paranoid when buying games because I always have to keep in mind that it might be more worth it to wait a year or two before buying it.

You will just have two versions of the same game. Sleeping Dogs, and Sleeping Dogs: Definitive versions in your library. I believe that the Definitive version (besides the graphical upgrade) should have all the DLCs included, if you have not purchased them already in the previous build.

Hello,

I have the normal sleeping dog version, i bought all the dlcs.
I don't see a upgrade deal,
They say sleeping dogs is not available anymore,
I can purchase definitive edition for 29,xx E
It's really expensive if you own already the game + all dlcs minus graphic upgrades..

I already bought the saint row 4 upgrade edition, i already had all dlcs minus three or four.
And i didn't receive the game of century version dlc in game list tab.

Steam need to check it.

I did wait almost 2 years before buying it... but still this happens. At this point I don't think its ever safe to buy a game

Sadly, yes. I may have bought this game during a sale but I don't feel like buying it a second time in order to get (slightly) better graphics and a new menu (with "continue" above "new game" in the opening screen).

I can't see the point in buying the same product twice... I did it once with Deus Ex HR but I didn't have any DLC and it came with more integration for the extra content (which actually made sense for that game).

I don't really like that they're doing that with more and more titles like Sleeping Dogs, the Metro games or Dark Souls 2 for instance.

I agree the definitive does seem like a downgrade. Especially after watching side by side, almost nothing different. Kinda dissapointed in the developers on this one.

Definitive looks like ♥♥♥♥ on this comparison. Gonna stay with standard + HD TexPack + SweetFX.
