HKship.exe Error...If you help fix it, I will love you.
Well, this is going to be a bit weird to explain. But, when I bought this game, (About a year ago), it worked fine. I beat the game, and loved the hell out of it.

Trouble is, it's now stopped working. Let me explain exactly what happens. The main menu opens up fine, but any time I load up the game, it freezes, the loading symbol shrinks, and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete my way out. It's at this point when the message "HKship.exe Has stopped responding" pops up.

I've tried every fix I've seen. I've reinstalled the game, verified the cache, ran HKship.exe as administrator, ran the game in Windows Compatibility mode, and still nothing. (I've also opened up a ticket with Steam Support, but that was ages ago, and still no reply)

I really want to play this game again, but it just won't work. Any help would be massively appreciated, and if you manage to help me get it working, I will love you.

Computer Specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
Display Name: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40Ghz (2 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Chip Type: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor

Thanks!

I have the same problem with an AMD A6-6400K CPU and Radeon 6670 and a 5 day old Windows 7 64-bit installation. Very annoying. The game ran just fine a year ago.

Another annoying thing is that the game starts just fine on my laptop which is really way too weak to play the game on as the framerate is very poor.

Hi, I also have the same problem. The game crashes randomly, sometimes with a white window, or just a freeze image. In all cases Windows displays the message "HKship.exe has stopped working.". I must have more than 10 hours of games under my belt and the problem is still there. I do not know if I have the courage to continue to play ...

I have basically the same system as the OP. Anyone here find a solution yet?

Square Enix silent too. They told "check your drivers blah blah blah" so ive done it, "send us your dxdiag report" - done too... and now just silence, nothing more, for couple of months.

It didn't work for me unfortunately. Two of the files it says to delete weren't in my SleepingDogs folder, but rather in my System32. My PC won't allow me to delete them, even as Admin, and deleting then verifying with the other files didn't fix the problem. :(
