yep me too ... only game so far that i have had a win 10 issue with hkship.exe fails and sometimes even steam bootstrapper bugs out....still when a game used to do this in win 7 5/10 times windows would freeze and force reboot...win 10 seems to be made of sterner stuff !
Sometimes the game will boot up but it fails more often than not

me too, it's strange becouse I have tried games that are older (like Mafia 2) andd they work perfectly fine

works now without highres textures

I had the same problem but after verifying the integrity of game cache, it seems ok again. Granted, I haven't played the game extensively, but I have at least made it into gameplay, which I could never do before.

However, performance in this game on Win 10 is horrible compared to Wn 8.1. In scenes where I was hitting around 100 fps before, now I'm getting around 60 or so fps. That's a gigantic drop in performance. Horrible!

Game works fine for me. You do not believe me? Here is video showing me launching the game under windows 10 without issues:

I had exactly the same problem, I followed fpsobsessed's advice about verifying the game cache's integrity, game works perfectly now.
Thanks, chaps.

Its the games fault you are running an OS it was not designed for?

wasn't the OS, but my own fault forgetting, what i had to do after reinstall, highres textures seem to never have worked in german low-violence version since i read it now (again).. so whatever, performance still ok, no difference to win 8 imo.. this thread can be closed ..ty

It happened to me too. Just google "Sleeping Dogs Crash" and you should find a solution.

try disabling your antivirus and see if it launches, i had todo that on win10 but not win7, added steam to exclusion list

I played this game about a year ago without any problem but a few days a go I decided to play it again it's crashing pretty often. It seems to crash most often when leaving the player's apartment but otherwise will still crash within a half-hour of playing. I thought that maybe my GPU was dying because every crash was accompanied by a message about the nvidia drivers stopped working but every other game has been working fine so I imagine it's some issue with new drivers.

Works mostly* fine for me with a clean install of Windows 10. Upgrade installs always have problems; clean install Win 10 if you haven't already done so.

*There is one easily solved issue, which is that in fullscreen mode there's constant tearing no matter whether I force vsync in the game or video card settings. However running it windowed with the Borderless Windowed tool fixes that problem.

That sucks... But really, it was all over the gaming websites to NOT INSTALL Win10 and expect to game. Its always the same with every new OS that is released. And Win10 will continue to be one of the biggest offenders, because it automatically updates without your consent.

It will be patched, eventually - not the game, ofc - but Windows.
