how long is the tutorial untill i can play online free roam ?

i played this like 3 years ago but never got passed the tutorial

There is no online

There are 2 tutorials. First one is for movement, second one is for combat. Roughly 15 minutes play time if you don't skip cinematics.
After that you have a mission called "Vendor extortion" followed by "Susan's lunch" favor and finally "Night market chase" mission. You will gain ability to enter free-roam mode and also be able to save manually at any time right after "Night market chase".

Overall, maybe 30 minutes until you're free to do almost anything you want.
There is no online free roam in Sleeping dogs. If you're interested in something like that, try applying for Triad Wars beta. Only online thing about Sleeping dogs are leaderboards for various stats, missions, races and all sorts of mischiefs.

The triad wars website does not open it just loads and loads thats all

You have to create a Square-Enix account, add the game, link it with Steam and log in. Otherwise it wont work.
If you're using ad-block or NoScript, disable it for triad wars/square-enix website.

Triad Wars has shutdown :( no more sleeping dogs multiplayer. Hopefully they make a Sleeping Dogs 2 with online.

Saw this coming a mile away... game had a flood of dislikes on youtube because nobody asked for a sleeping dogs multiplayer spinoff.... They wanted a sequel

Problem is it's not even a multiplayer spinoff, it was not true multiplayer as you never got to play with any real players in realtime it was just fighting their character and base controlled by NPCs =( also there was no co-op missions.
