How do i use multiplayer?

So, as you can tell, this is about the multiplayer, specifically... how do i use the "public" option? I don't have any friends to invite for private mode, but i also can't seem to find any button to take me to a public lobby or anything. Can anyone please tell me how to connect to other players for multiplayer?

The multiplayer is still in beta, thats why only private options are avaidable for now

It's possible you won't find many people playing multiplayer games. but you can just make the lobby public in the skirmish or campaign settings, and someone could join.
