The Lost Archive DLC issue and resolution
I bought AC Revelations Gold Edition back on March 2023. I got codes for the game, an online DLC, and The Lost Archive DLC to activate on Ubisoft Connect / in game. At the time I didn't want to play it yet and and only 2 of the codes got activated. The Lost Archive DLC didn't got activated but I didn't gave much attention to that since I thought that maybe they gave it as a free update (like how they did with AC Unity Dead Kings DLC) or that it may already got activated as part of the 2 other codes.

I found out recently where I finished the game's story that I don't own The Lost Archive DLC. I did made sure of that when I checked on Ubisoft Connect on the game's DLC page.

Then with many threads that I found on Steam's Discussion page and on Reddit, etc. I made the conclusion that for the time when I bought the DLC, I should have go to in game and activate the DLC (not on Ubisoft Connect). But that is no longer possible since the servers are down now. But if you buy the DLC now, you will get a code to activate it in Ubisoft Connect (instead of in game). But again take that with a grain of salt.
But either way there was not a way to buy again the DLC on Steam even if I want to, Steam wouldn't let me since I technically already own it.

So I contacted Ubisoft Support asking them to activate the DLC for me from their side. Apart from the fact that they made me re send the receipt again because the official PDF from the email that Steam sent me when I bought the game wouldn't count as a receipt. And they wanted a screenshot from Steam's Purchase History like yeah a screenshot is more of an evidence than a PDF receipt file. In the end, they rejected to help me and they just told me:
"...Upon further checking regarding the issue, I regret to inform you that the Lost Archives DLC can no longer be accessed following the server closure in October 2022.
Because of the server closure, we can no longer manually activate the DLC on our end as well..."
and they closed the ticket.
Which is totally not true since I managed to activate it in the end, see the rest of the message.

So I found the resolution myself which was to buy the Gold Edition (for 6€) again but on Humble Bundle, then Humble Bundle asked to connect to my Ubisoft Connect account and activate the game and the DLC there. And now the DLC is listed correctly on my game's DLC page.

and I can access the DLC on my existing save file just fine.

I know that I could probably access the DLC via another non legit way e.g. by a game's mod or a modified save file. But I was looking for a legit way since I already have bought it. But in the end of course I had to buy it twice.

But I'm feeling really sorry for Ubisoft Support because I can't believe that they don't have an internal tool to activate a license for you. I mean the implementation is ready from back end side. Just as Humble Bundle activated the DLC for me just by pressing a button (I guess by making a simple API call).

This might help anyone who has the same issue.

That's not right. You can play it. I quote:

I wonder if that'd work still today. However, hell I'm gonna purchase a DLC that I already bought. Fck Ubisoft for this. Especially since I owned on Steam and also the Gold Edition. In fact I think I purchased the DLC separately on Steam back in the day, and when my last playthrough was going on, I didn't have the access to it, then I purchased the Gold Edition on Steam and it worked, but it's not working anymore again... Awesome thing to do by Ubisoft. They are literally killing themselves.

Archives DLC can no longer be accessed following the server closure in October 2022. That's cute too as I was able to fix it in 2023 July. But issue is alive again. I'm starting to think they do this on purpose to mess with us...

Simply did a search and found the very same "Guide" that I usually use to help others to access Desmond's Journey and Lost Archive DLC to bypass that purposedly inserted obsolescence by Ubi' Con[ubisoftconnect.com]. :baa:

And how about now we finally allow this thread to RIP from its previous necromancy when there are others far more recent and with a similar topic to this one? :winter2019tiredbulb:

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
