Does this help?
Even in the carriage chase sequence at the start of the gameplay, I am not able to control my carriage, and once the captain's carriage 1st escapes, my carriage enters an area that should normally be inaccessible. Then it uncontrollably proceeds whence the carriage literally travels midair, for quite sometime. Then my carriage just disappears, and its just Ezio who is seemingly sat on thin air.
PS: Just now completed Origins & Black Flag in the same system. Hence I am pretty sure there aint any issues with the hardware.
Note: Had tried to implement the fix suggested, by going to ""Program Files (x86)->Ubisoft->...."" But I do not have any specific Revelations folder in it. Hence not sure where to find the .dll as suggested, to rename. This might be because I had installed Revelations from Steam, where I had purchased it.
Sys Info: Core i7 10th Gen processor. Recently upgraded to Win 11 (Revelations had same issues in Win 10 as well). 8 GB dedicated GeForce RTX GPU. 16 GB RAM.
If you bought the game on steam (like me), you need to find your Steam game installation folder, for me it's "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed Revelations"
If you are not sure where your Steam folder is, you can go to your steam library, right click on AC revelations, then select "manage" > "browse local files". Alternatively, you can go to "this PC", then in the search bar on the top-right, type in "Assassin's Creed Revelations"
Lol, found the solution for Win 11 systems that don't have the file 😄
1. Go to the install location (for me it's "E:\SteamLibrary\steamapp\common\" for each AC game from AC 2 through to Revelations.
- If you're not sure, per tiger199835's post above, go to your Steam library, right click on the AC game, go to "manage" then click on "browse local files" or search for the game in the search bar of "This PC" in Windows Explorer.
2. Right click on the following:
- AC 2: AssassnsCreedIIGame.exe | AC Brotherhood: AssassinsCreedBrotherhood.exe | AC Revelations: ACRSP.exe
- Go to properties > compatibility
- Set Compatibility mode for Windows 7 + select the option "Disable fullscreen optimizations"
NOTE: for AC 2, Brotherhood and Revalations, I just applied compatibility settings to the main exe file for each game but it comes down to how you want to run the games
3. Repeat process for exe files for Brotherhood and Revelations.
(Version from AC 3 onward shouldn't have the issue but will update after I test | after hours of testing with Assassin's Creed 1, it doesn't work ☹️)
And just because you didn't find it, it simply means that you haven't searched well enough, period.
And also performing a 2022's thread necromancy isn't the right way to try and find an answer for your current predicament too. But I'll simply leave that as an eventual advice for you to take upon the future.
