Desmonds journey not starting up

when i try to start desmonds journey part 1, there is just a black screen with a white blinking square in the middle. it just stays there and nothing happens. how do you fix this?

I used this guide and now desmonds journey works, the first time crashed tho.
The lost archive DLC is not going to work if you don't create a new save file.

I'm currently watching a walk-through of the lost archive so i don't have to replay 5 hours of the game.

yea i could not care less about Desmond and was only gonna play these for the achievements.... but now that i have to do extra stuff in order to play them? Thats the hardest skip ever.... SKIIIIP

This guide works, and it's super worth it to me to do the fix real quick. My friend doesn't care to because he just wants to play through the story. But I want to 100% it, so I'm super grateful to be able to play all the content and get all the achievements.
