Update killed Desmond's Memories?
I was playing through this game and I only got to do the first 2 memories. And even getting into those was a struggle because the game would often fail to properly launch those sequencs. So I decided to finish the main game and then try to do the rest of desmonds memories aftetwards. Something weird happened. I finished the game and I don't know if the game got updated in the meantime or something? Before, when I went into Desmonds memories the game would close, and it was like there was a separate launcher or .exe that loaded the desmond memory sections (although this often failed). But now, when I enter one of the desmond memories portals the game has a different behaviour. It doesnt close and try to launch the memory, instead I just get an infinite regular assassins creed revelations loading screen, black screen with a small white rectangle blinking or whatever, this is the same loading screen that is sometimes seen in the game.

What happened? Did the game get patched and the patch broke desmonds memories? I also cannot access the The Lost Archive DLC. I have an entry for it in the main menu but clcking on it does nothing. The outfit DLC seems to work though and I didn't have to enter codes for it in the ingame menu. In fact I cant enter codes for any DLC in the ingame menu, that option is greyed out and it says "OFFLINE".

I could have sworn that the game folder had multiple .exes before. I used to launch the game in administrator mode to circumvent some bugs so I saw the game folder multiple times. I think it had 3 .exes. I thought to myself, it is probably the base game exe, desmond memories exe, and multiplayer exe. But now, there is only 1 .exe in that same folder. I verified game cache and have also tried reinstalling the game alltogether and it still has only one exe file. Another strange thing is that the ubisoft logo that plays when you start the game suddenly has no sound anymore. Am I going crazy or did Ubisoft roll out some new gamebreaking patch as a last sayonara (and ♥♥♥♥ you) to Assassins Creed Brotherhood?

Also half the time I launch the game now the escape button wont activate the menu screen

How can I play the rest of Desmonds memories and how can I play The Lost Archive DLC?

I just started up Revelations, today, and am also getting infinite loading screens on the first Journey mission. I tried changing my frame-rate cap, how many cores the game uses, restarting, but nothing is working.

same for me, let's hope ubisoft reads the complaints and fixes this catastrophy eventually

I have now tried playing offline, progressing the game into sequence 4, and increasing my memory fragments. Nothing works. Only thing I have yet to try is running the game in compatibility mode.
My friend has the same problem, seems that the Desmond Memory stuff needed the online servers, which are now offline due March 26th's multiplayer shutdown (ACB and ACR).

I haven't touched this game since 2014, but I don't understand why online was required for that part of the game. Lol
This week's update has also removed some Mediterranean defense content, such as the Rhodes location, which require players to complete all Rhodes multiplayer maps.
Desmond's Journey is part of the main game.
The Lost Archive dlc allowed you to unlock it right away, instead of collecting 30 animus fragments.

The one Ubisoft employee who may have seen these posts and issues left their role in 2023, so this problem may be permanent.

anyone know if downgrading the game using older manifests on steamdb will work?

Edit: I've found a temporary solution. Download the older manifests (from 2017) on steamdb, you only need two depots, 201871 and 201882. Installed 'em through steam console, and replaced the steam game files with the ones i've downloaded. You might also need to download the language manifests if you use other languages. Put the game on offine mode to avoid updates overwriting the game files, and voila

Ahh, you must be from that Reddit post. A bit more detailed instructions, for those who have never done this, like me.

Open Steam, and press Win Key + R Key, if on Windows. Then type in steam://nav/console.

After that, put in both of these, and wait for a confirmation that they downloaded:
download_depot 201870 201871 3788743185036498953
download_depot 201870 201882 6947412385247558407 (You only need this if you own The Lost Archive DLC)

After that, you can find these files in your Steam directory, for me it was: SteamLibrary\steamapps\content\app_201870

Copy the files from both folders into your AC Revelations directory, and replace any conflicting files. Last step is to delete systemdetection.dll in that directory, unless you enjoy flashing lights.

You can run the game through Steam whilst online, after this, no problem, but if a future patch comes through, you might have to go through this again if that doesn't fix these issues.

I tried your solution, but i got stuck at the second step.
download_depot 201870 201871 3788743185036498953
I could download the one above without a problem, but when I tried the other one I got this message:
] download_depot 201870 201882 6947412385247558407
Depot download failed : missing license for depots 201882

I tried to log out and log in, but it didn't work.
Somebody can help me?
