Ezio's evolving appearance and why I think it's important
This is definitely off topic and I'm not sure if it was the devs intentions for this but I love the evolution of Ezio's robes from ACII to Revelations. Why you may ask? It reflects not just his age but his aggressive fighting experience in a weird way. In Assassin's Creed 2 when Ezio is first introduced in a playable manner he is 17 years old and by the end of the game he is in his 40s (exactly 40). His robes are very nobleman like and once he dons Altair's armor the robes are black and canonically he carries them into Brotherhood. By default they are the traditional white with an elegant design. This reflects his purity of a young man and where he comes from and the shift to the black robes to me signify maturity in his position as an assassin. By Brotherhood he loses Altair's armor and instead get new robes that again are white and longer also they are more form fitting and not as noble, obviously because he is in Rome. This appearance corresponds not just to him being a master assassin but leader calling for a more mature set of robes since throughout AC: Brotherhood he is 40-48. By Revelations Ezio is a now ripe 52 year old man. Gone are the days of youth and purity, and this is displayed by the lack of white robes now donning gray almost indicating this lack of youth and purity. Also another addition is the inclusion of fur on his robes which could indicate a more feral/animal like personality which is shown in his fighting style. Ezio still has finesse but its far more brutal then it originally was, almost animal like. He also ditches his trademark cape, which to me was used to hide his primary hidden blade (the one with the gun and poison). Now he has no reason to hide this. He IS an assassin. Also the hook blade. With how inventive it is its also a talon or a claw used for climbing and gutting. To me Ezio's age is reflected perfectly in this more animal like appearance. He has lived a life by the creed. He is an assassin. He has no reason to hide it.
