ACRSP.exe has stopped working fix (kinda)

So. I bought this game just recently, and I already had Uplay Game Launcher installed since I own and play other Ubisoft games, so I thought I was good to go. But for some reason when I tried to launch this game, is would load a black screen then within a couple seconds crash and display "ACRSP.exe has stopped working". I tried checking forums online and every one of the few solutions I could find wouldn't work for me. So instead of refunding the game,I decided to fiddle around the games files, and I kinda found found a fix. DISCLAIMER: The reason I say kinda is because I was able to get the game to launch with this strategy, but for whatever reason I could not get the game's SOUND to work.

What I Did:
1. Dive into the game files, which will look something like this -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed Revelations
2. I removed all FOLDERS (mult, PB, penrose, Resources, Support, Videos, Sound Data, LauncherConfig) and just placed them in another seperate folder.
3. I ran ACRSP.exe, and it booted right up, just without any sound.

I tried adding back in sound files, but when I added the entire Sound Data folder the game crashed, and when I added the files individually the sound still didn't load in. Maybe this was a horrible idea, since I know next to nothing about how these files work, but this is the only way I could get it to run, so i mean, whatever.

If you know of a better fix or how I could bring back sound, any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. I installed the game on a secondary hard drive, and impossible to launch the game (message box, stopped working, bla bla). The only solution is to reinstall it on the main hard drive, and then no problem.

It looks like its the sounds_sfx.pck file. If you move this elsewhere the game stops crashing but doesnt have any sound. Any ideias?

Ok so you put them in another folder. Is the other folder within the game folder or did you move it to a different location?
