Why do enemies never dual-wield?
How come nobody dual-wields except me? I know it wastes ammo, and I only do it when I need to. But enemies never do it. With dual-wielding, I'm practically unstoppable, and I'm playing in "death incarnate" difficulty. You fire two guns against someone firing only one, so it is a mathematical certainty that I will win the battle every time. Some of the achievements require you to kill hundreds of soldiers with dual-wielding, so I have to use it anyhow. No one sprint-and-slides either. I hope someday there would be a game engine that allows enemies and NPCs to have the same cool moves as I do.

This is an id tech 5 game, so we are probably looking at a dress rehearsal for Doom 4, which I think will NEED to be better than what we see in WNO. I remember Doom 3 to be a watershed moment in action games and horror games. I hope Doom 4 will be the same.

I'm sure there are multiple design reasons behind the lack of dual-wielding in enemies. I prefer to look at it in a more illogical fashion. You could say it's an 'action star' thing, where your character is the most badass-est nazi-killing mofo to ever walk the earth (and moon?), and his sheer desire for Nazi blood to be splattered across the landscape gives him the strength to hold an automatic shotgun in either hand. Nazis, being complacent in their victory for 14 years, have no such bloodlust, and therefore don't have the pure rage-muscles needed to perform such feats.

It could also be the Nazi's notoriously efficient nature, in which everyone must be the same. So if you had one person running around with two assault rifles, everyone would have to have two assault rifles. They are all about order and routine, and apparently large concrete buildings and moon-bases.

And is this the only game that causes you to question? Every game has those "unfair" things....for example why the hell enemies do not regenerate health like player does in almost every modern game out there? The answer is "TO MAKE AN AVERAGE ♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOLDING A CONTROLLER FEEL HIMSELF A PRO". Why there's no sliding enemies....why there's no fast enemies? Because it is a console game....devs need to keep in mind that average ♥♥♥♥♥♥ won't be able to deal with those using a controller.

Dual-weilding in this case is more of a tribute to a siliness and the idea of super hero wich old shooters were known for....and this game is inspired by Wolf 3d.

Doom is being developed using id tech 6.

Actually they will sprint slide into cover but its quite rare on lower difficulties.
