Health upgrades not available

Is this a bug or am I missing something. None of the health upgrades are available to me. I didn't even know there is such a thing until I saw a gameplay video where someone had >100 health. When I search for the health upgrades they aren't there, the box in which they are suppsed to be locked is completely unclickable.
Are they only available in second gameplay?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Some upgrades available only for particular timeline. My guess, Fergus is for health and Wyatt for armor.
