Throwing Knives Problem

I feel like an idiot but I can't seem to figure out how to throw knives in this game. I saw the tutorial thing pop up but I brushed it off. Then I restarted the level and the tutorial never came back up. The options menu just says to hit the same button that you have bound to melee (in my case, mouse3) but it just goes for the stab instead of the throw. Is there some kind of special button combination you need to throw a knife?

You need an extra knife to be able to throw one, as you can't throw away your only melee knife.

Is there not a single extra knife throughout all of chapter 1? I pick up all the ammo I find and spam the use key on shelves and tables, still haven't found another knife.

i too am having this problem!! i have never seen or found another knife and dont understand why it doesnt let you throw the one knife??? you could either retrieve it after you get a kill with the thrown single knife like 99% of all games do or u could just waste your one and only knife bc you want to and it will help you in that particular instance. it should be your choice to sacrafice the last knife and use it for throwing vs stabbing.

I don't recall exactly but I got my first extra knife way after the first chapter.

You need 2 of them to be able to throw one, but once you got 2, press M3 and when it hits you can pick it up again, dont remember when you get 2 of them tho.

Im playing this game for the first time, and I went through the first level with throwing knives, only stopping when I ran out (never bothered picking them up). But I definitely had throwing knives on level 1 (the beachfront bunkers). Then I stopped and restarted to collect stuff and go stealthy, but am now wondering where the knives got to. I cant find any now.

I'm fairly sure that the throwing knives don't come in until chapter 2. very early in chapter 2, like as soon as you exit the first room there's one on the floor in front of you.

I believe the knives don't spawn in chapter one until after you get the perk unlocked to throw knives (since I was just throwing them in chapter one, they obviously exist). If you reload the chapter after this, there's no trigger for them to show up. Hopefully later chapters will be less poor at deciding if you're supposed to have an ability. :|

You get one extra knif in the chapter 1. I had to reload my save after throwing it and can't find any now in that chapter =P.

yeah, i know its an old post, everything is unlocked via perks which require certain criteria to be completed. You can unlock throwing knives literally in the WW2 level. After you kill the first 2 guys by knife, which includes an officer, there is another sequence requiring you to kill another 2 officers before entering the compound to destroy the AA guns and the huge walker. Simply stealth kill all the soldiers patrolling and you'll unlock throwing knives. To do it, you need extra knives and just use the melee button or use weapon wheel and have the knife selected by default. The kills need to be stealth kills where you get the prompt to kill them and they are unaware of you prior to killing.

I'm already in the Uboat with extra knives and still cant throw them.
