Wolfenstein: The New Order

Wolfenstein: The New Order

Didnt Caroline die in the previous Wolfenstein?
I thought Caroline died in the last Wolfenstein, or was that another person?

its a game .. multiple lives or her twin :)
so much for machine games or whatever for being story based.. tut tut tut
The game is story based. You probably mean sequel? WTNO borrows from the games canon while adding to it with their vision/take on the Wolfenstein universe while not straying too far. Take all the different iterations of Batman for example.
I mean it shouldnt just forget what happened in the previous Wolfensteins, I am pretty sure that Caroline dies at the end of the previous Wolfenstein so I dont think she should be alive in this one, otherwise it would turn into CoD with different stories and devs
From what I could gather, the game ignores Wolfenstein 2009's storyline and only borrowes its characters but not their stories. Instead it uses Return to Castle Wolfentein's and Wolfenstein 3D's story.

I don't see how it could involve Wolf 3D's story as Hitler is apparently alive in New Order. You find newspaper clippings in game and some of them are interviews with Hitler. Possible that Hitler's death is kept a secret in the world of New Order.

As for Wolf 2009, Caroline is shown shot and is assumed dead but we never really got a chance to see the body. Unless something absolutely contradicts Wolf 2009 I'm taking New Order as a continuation of RtCW & Wolf 2009 which both took place in 1943.

Deathshead, Hans Grosse, Caroline's "Death" & Spider Queen boss fight.

Its only speculation on my part but I think part of the later game is going to be setting history/timeline right.

given what we've seen so far on "Timelines" and "stealing our future", I would say 200% that time travel is a thing in this game.

Plus they keep talking about "The Mysterious Source of their powers" and already confirmed it's not occult.

Hopefully it doesn't ♥♥♥♥ all over logic like BSI did.

TY, was driving me nuts trying to think of what game it stood for.
Alternate universe, so they can pretty much do whatever they wish. Seems cheesy and lame that part of the story, but maybe they will somehow explain it in a way that will make it good. God, I sure hope so :P

I did play wolf3D, RTCW and wolf '09, but I didn't know that the game also uses 2009's story. I thought it would follow the first and third game, because wolf 09 did not live up to the previous 3 games.
Thanks for the info!

Well Deathshead has been the major antagonist of both RtCW & 09 while Caroline was only in 09. If her apparent death isn't even brought up in New Order either through dialog or in some sort of file then I'll say that they are only using the character and not really following the timeline. Whether that is due to some sort of timeline tampering or because the devs are simply using her character and ignoring the story... remains to be seen.

Deathshead's look and mannerisms have changed quite a bit from past games.I absolutely love what they've done with him in this new version. He was always a good villain, but now he just oozes sinister.

'You call me... Deathshead. I don't like that. I am... a happy man...' :rictus grin: 'You see?'
