All a matter of prefference. For me TF2 is a very weak game, even though I enjoyed TF: Classic a lot.
And I remember games with excellent Single and Multi player modes like Unreal 1 from 1998.
Titanfall is also MP only and I did not liked it at all. Several maps, just a few guns and 3 mechs with few weapons also... Call about lack of content. Thing where you can unlock most stuff in 2-3 hours.
On the other hand, having just single player does not guarantee a good game. Where the hell did that idea came from?
The whole topic is still pointless, let them do whatever they want. Let us judge after the poduct has been delivered.
I'd rather screw around in campaign and try to find secrets than find a corner to camp and see how many kills/how long I can sit there before someone kills me.
Not to mention the "community" that generally follows online play, IE: People that complain and are constantly calling one another hackers or any other insult your mind can think of.
It doesn't change the factst hat SP is already finished.
Just them thinking about adding MP doesn't make the SP go poof.
Them saying they will do it doesn't make SP vanish or have a horrible story all of a sudden...
Might want to keep that in mind.
And those they do not want it are selfish.
If they add it, that's fine. It doesn't change how you play the game.
You still will have SP... As it doesn't go poof and vanish. It's already created.
Again, not gonna happen since Starbreeze (MachineGames) aren't familiar wih creating MP. They have alot of experience with SP and that's why they did this game SP only. Bethesda seems to also favor SP only considering how Dishonored was also SP only title.
IT does not matter if it does not happen.
My reply was to the person I quoted.
Agreed.
This needs to be engraved in a plaque somewhere, preferably in the developer's board room.
I have never seen anybody say that the COD games have a great single player experience, those games are clearly focused on the multiplayer content. They might as well have made them 100% multiplayer from the start.
Pay attention to history: story-driven single player games that have multiplayer taped on the side never became succesful for their multiplayer content. Those die out very quickly and are usually bashed as being terrible. Why would that be any different for The New World Order?
If you want to play multiplayer games, then go play multiplayer games. Wolfenstein: The New Order is not a multiplayer game. Move along. There is no shortage of multiplayer games out there right now, there is always a new one around the corner, with the gaming market being saturated by it already.
Which brings up the next question: Why must every new FPS game have multiplayer? Didn't <random new FPS game> which came out last month have that already? Did you get bored of its multiplayer so quickly? Why will that be different here then? You will very likely be asking for multiplayer in the next FPS game a month later. Devs can't waste their time anymore developing multiplayer content for single player games now that it is CLEAR that the multiplayer part never stays active for very long.
tl;dr
If you want multiplayer, play games that are 100% focused for multiplayer.
Many people wouldn't mind having it to prolong the gaming experience..
Single player games for most people ends in a few hours.. Then they don't touch the game again. Adding multiplayer increases the gameplay experience. That's all that some people want. All those questions you asked, it can be asked of single player games. Don't understand the bash on players/people who are asking for multiplayer. Thing is, the single player content is already finished. it's not going to diminish anything if this gets MP... You can still enjoy the single player. And besides, it's not up to you guys, it's up to them if they decide to add that kind of content or not.
Exactly what I meant in the first paragraph of my previous post with the RtCW/ET comparison. This method is better. Single + multiplayer packed in a single release always results in one of the two being developed in a noticeable inferior way because time & resources available to the devs is limited.
I'm not against multiplayer, I'm against singleplayer packed together with multiplayer. One of the two always ends up very weak and dead in a short time. Better to develop only one, use the profits of it to build the other later (or release the tools for gamers to make it themselves).
Go home, you re drunk.
This Wolfenstein is in the hands of people that did Chronicle of Riddick and The Darkness that were 2 of the most immersive fps you could find. That one, if you watched the 2 twitch streams done, is no different.
