Correct. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was kind of a reboot of Wolfenstein 3D. Deathshead himself was based on Dr. Schabbs from 3D. RtCW takes place early 1943 during the month of march I believe. Wolfenstein 2009 continues the story with the same London OSA director and assistant giving BJ a new mission, this time in a single city and again with Deathshead as the antagonist. While a date is never given for the game it likely takes place sometime in mid to late 1943 as the Nazis are using the earlier MP/StG 43 instead of the more famous 44 model. The timeline is really starting to diverge from reality at this point, with the weapons getting more advanced upgrades. New Order also brings back Caroline Becker with her experiences directly referenced from Wolfenstein 2009.

Wolfenstein 3D is not considered part of the story line as Hitler was killed in the classic and a number of news articles suggest he is still alive both in 1946 when New Order starts and 1960 where most of the game takes place.
