Install size : 41.1 Gb.
Seriously, 41.1 Gb for a FPS. Is that a joke?
How can any solo FPS take that much space? It's not a MMO with a bunch of expansion packs... Heck, Wildstar + FF14 aren't even taking 30Gb.

If this is because of some "hi-def textures" thing, just make them a free DLC and don't waste everyone's bandwith. It's not like every player can use them.

i have no problems downloading 41 gb :P

that goes fast for me :P you should get a better ISP :P

It's the engine. No duplicated textures means huge space requirements. If possible you should get a better isp as was said above this only took me an hour to download.

Hey, got news for you : everyone in the world can't magically swap their ISP for a 100mb/s offer if the local infrastructure won't allow it.

Still, friggin' 9-hours download isn't THAT much of a deal but come on.
You can cram the full editions of Skyrim and the two Borderlands in the same amount of data.

And this game is available on consoles. I'm pretty sure it doesn't take half as much space there.

It's 44.5gb on the Xbox One.

Ok, I stand corrected.

Still too much IMO.

i don`t have 100 MB :P

got 40\10 40 down and 10 up.. and that is max.. ADSL.. can`t get fiber here since i don`t live in a big city-. but i don`t complain. i am happy with the net i have :)
Michel Baie Jun 20, 2014 @ 3:03pm
I didn't know 40Mb ADSL existed.
I thought it was capped at 20Mb.

I have to do with 10Mb, and I know a lot of places where it's worse. Doesn't mean there's no gamers there.

And even the boxed version need a big fat 10Gb download before you can run it...

40\10 is the maximum that my ISP can provide for me here where i live .. but i mentioned that in the previous comment .

i know the feeling when it comes to bad internet.

i had to live 56KBPS for 10 years before we got a 5 mb line :P haha
that was a relief XD

Yes man. We know. Huge game size has been discussed maaaany times already. Time to start reading hardware requirements.
Huge size is the result of megatexture. It was "an issue" in RAGE before.

I read them... up to a point.
I usually skip HDD requierements, my bad.
And when I saw that size, I really thought it was an error.

Also, I know that hyped games tends to give requierements higher than what's really needed.

Now that the game is finally installed, it run with no apparent problems in medium settings... with a AMD Mobility Radeon 5800. 25/35 FPS the most time : it's playable and still look nice.

This was kind of a deciding deal breaker for me, 40GB for a SP only game that I most likely delete in a month or two...plus the price tag put me off.

Besides death screens and entering the game, there are really no loading screens anywhere throughout the game. Unless you count cutscenes.
Gyro Jun 21, 2014 @ 9:11pm
With BluRay being a standard on the consoles now, you're going to see this being increasingly more common with games.

This is going to be the rule and not the exception, TitanFail was even bigger and looked terrible in comparison. Time to upgrade the isp and the hard drive if you want to keep PC gaming.
