Everything we know about him is that Klaus has found him in this terrible state he is in.

Depending on his enormous size and some hints from the game that Uber soldiers have part of their brains removed, I guess that Max is a failed material for Uber soldier and he got the wrong part of the brain removed.

What's your guess?

I didn't know that about Uber soldiers :o He must have been on his way to becoming one then, before he was either rescued/escaped on his own.

So we know Klaus' son was born with a clubbed foot, and was shot in the head. Caroline says this.

Take a look at Max in the game. He's missing a piece of his head, obviously, BUT: He also has a bandage around one toe. I think this bandage was there because Max had a clubbed foot, and it's the leftover from the corrective surgery.

His head injury could be from being shot at a young age; as it looks well-healed, all things considered, and the bandage is from having surgery for a clubbed foot.

Max IS Klaus' real son.

Well yeah, this one seems legit. Dying Klaus says "you are my son", so this is another clue.
