Kill from cover perks

what exactly constitutes cover?, i can't seem to unlock those perks

Good question…

You have to stand right in front of a wall and lean shotting from behind it, you have to use the ALT (default key) and peek from cover shooting enemies.

I remapped the lean key to CTRL but I still find the lean mechanic awkward. Only a small criticism of an extremely good game, though.

No no no... When you press yourself against cover, your gun raises up a bit and a little arrow marker appears near the reticule. That arrow indicates what way you'll go when you aim down sights and constitutes as you being in cover.

I figured this out, I have to AIM DOWN SIGHTS when that arrow appears
I had 1/80 kills before that. Leaning with alt key didn't work.
