Did you check that your cpu cooler isn't having issues?
Interesting , could you check if the CPU is actually being used for 100% or..?
Most games don't use CPU a lot.
IF you run prime95 do you succeed in heating the CPU like that?

I find this CPU has a very low maximum operation temp.

Tcase (aka core temps) = MAX 61.1°C
***This temp is correctly reported in AMD Overdrive***
***This temp is correctly reported in HWMonitor under AMD FX-8350 > Temperature > Package***

Tjunction (aka socket temp) = MAX 70°C
***This is what is reported in the BIOS according to AMD***
***This temp is correctly reported in HWMonitor under Temperatures > CPU***

With such a low max temp you may run into trouble without super cooling or well applied cooling element.

I remember reaching +80 degrees C running my Q9450 at 3.3Ghz in tropical environment with a Coolermaster Hyper 212, would have had to install airconditioning to get it down to the FX 8350's recommended temps.

AMD FX 6300 overclocked no overheat have a coolermaster hyper 212 with 2 fans. 1 are you using standard cooler that came with cpu 2 are you overclocking if you are doing both this would explaine if you are usind standard cooler that may also be an issue plus what motherboard do you use some gigabyte boards LIKE MINE the cpu fan port dont work properly and only kicks out half power

please send me freind requset as i am intrigued to find out what is cuasing this
Mine was shutting down, so I opened my PC up and I point a house fan at the motherboard while I'm playing it. Works a treat...
hey murray a dilbert fan i see ALL HAIL DOGBERT
Mine is getting hot to! I've never had my 8350 get so hot running stock clocks! I have an H55 liquid cooler and it was hitting 60C!
if other people were overheating, it wouldn't be because of the game. if your pc is built properly, you should be able to withstand actual stress tests without overheating, let alone being able to play a game.
deleted. not gonna try to help this child.

First, my specs:

Win 7 Pro X64
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Mainboard
AMD FX 8350 4Ghz CPU
** Thermaltake NIC4 CPU Cooler **
Corsair 16gig Vengence 1600Mhz DDR3
2x eVGA GTX 660 SC 2GB SLI
Forceware Driver 335.23
Thermaltake Toughpower 1375 Watt PSU
Thermaltake Overseer RX-I Full Tower Case
1 200mm side intake fan
1 200mm front intake fan
2 200mm top exhaust fan
1 120mm rear exhaust fan

Before I had installed the Thermaltake NIC4 cooler, I was running the stock cooler.
While running Prime95, Hmonitor was reporting my CPU Core temp up to 73c!
Granted, it wasn't a constant 73c, but it got up there and it scared me to death!

Ran the same Prime95 test using the program Coretemp, and it reported my CPU
Core temp at 62c

Mind you, both of these tests I only let run for less than 3 minutes, made me too nervous!

I got the Thermaltake NIC4 CPU cooler installed, and after 20 minutes of Prime95,
my CPU Core temp levels off at around 61c, and NO higher, according to Hmonitor.

Did the same Prime95 test with only Coretemp program, and it reports a max core temp of around 39c.

Frankly, however, liquid cooling scares the crap out of me personally. I have never had any luck with plumbing and did not want to chance a leak.

Be wary of some of the "tower" type CPU coolers as some of them can interfere with your RAM sticks if the RAM sticks have heat spreaders on them.

Bottom line is, the stock cooler shipped with the FX 8350 is nothing more than a noisy, crappy cooler.
I would highly recommend replacing it ASAP.
Deadpool - I had a similar problem to you, though with my HD7990 card.
I found that on demanding games the graphics card was pulling so much power that the PSU was right on it's power limit and the heat being generated by the graphics card and the near-overloaded PSU was enough to send my CPU up to a crazy temperature.
I fixed it by upgrading my PSU and leaving the side off my PC.
I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to temps and I can tell you that I have not been impressed by this games tendency to jack up my temps during in-game scripted events. The first half of the first chapter is all scripted. Maybe you're experiencing the same sort of thing.

It's people like you who piss me off and make me never post in forums because of your unfathomable stupidity and inability to read a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ original post. DId I NOT say that I haven't had ANY issues prior to W:TNO? Even on high end games. Use your brain and your eyes, thanks!

Well, he's absolutely right though.

This game doesn't stress my CPU any more than anything else, much less in fact than even playing Far Cr 3 or some game like that.

So yeah something is up with your current rig, and after all the people that tried to give you info, tips, etc., you didn't even bother to list what CPU cooler you have- still.

BTW you do not need liquid cooling on one of these CPUs to get it to run cool. It just takes a few minutes of experimenting with fan placement.. Turning one fan from sucking to blowing can make a huge difference, and every case/ setup is a little different.

Really? Post #5, posted 18 hours ago at time of writing. Might wanna read it where I enlighten people that I have the stock cooler that came with the CPU.

My computer is a beast. It has handled any and every game I've thrown at it. I have exceptional airflow as well. Why would only, and again I said ONLY, W:TNO do this, then? Why am I not alone? It's obviously not just my rig, and seeing as how buggy the game is period a patch needs to be implemented. It is a proven fact that the AMD-FX 8350 Octocore runs hot, period! Some people experiencing idling at 35C, where as I experience 19C idle rates and 35C rates when not in game.

I've taken the various, legitiamte, tips into consideration and thank everyone for them.

I will also go ahead and say that I have performed stress tests on this rig. Both in AMD Overdrive and 3D Mark, and various other benchmark tools. No overheating. I guess saying that "ONLY W:TNO overheats my computer" does not convey to this fact.

If your CPU can handle 100% usage from stress test, then this game cannot possible overheat it any more than that. It is impossible. SO yeah, your PC/ case fan flow, whatever, is messed up, just like your attitude.

"Within one minute of play time my CPU is running at 65C. Within ten to fifteen minutes it's shooting up to 79C"

65C in one minute? 79C in 10 min? And you say it isn't messed up?

Yes, it is.

My 8150 @ 4.2hghz never goes above 57C, and never went above 63C with 2x GTX670 OC amount of heat dumping into case with it.

No, your PC is not "a beast" if you have a crap stock cooler on your 8350.
maxsmeLL is absolutely right, you just can't handle the truth, and lash out like an angry child when confronted with it.

That says it all right there.

Did you even check your cpu cooler? It might be on the fritz. Or there is a mobo issue. If everything is doing its job, full-load or not your cpu shouldn't meltdown.
