Breaking the cement mixer, need help!

Hey. Thanks for reading. I'm having an.. issue. I know how to operate the cement mixer in the camp and I know I have to throw the broken cover in to it, to break it. However, the cover falls on the floor and I can't target that low down to pick it up!

Any suggestions?

You may need to reload the previous saved point and hope it falls in a better spot.

yeah i've reloaded 6 times now :( you can't crouch as you can't move away from themachine (that I've tried)

If neither worked, I'd restart the chapter, not just the last save, only so much to try.

You should be able to crouch: the game actually prompted me to crouch at that point - it popped up a little window saying "crouch to get low enough to pick up the piece" or something along those lines.

You shouldn't need to move away from the machine - just press the crouch key on the spot.

You need to do one more cement thing, then you'll be able to pick it up. I had the issue too, so I just assumed I was supposed to continue making cement and I did.
