Chapter One Glitch - Help!
When I choose to save either fergus or Wyatt in chapter one in the last scene when the character you choose to save throws you a pipe ... you are supposed to use the pipe to do a takedown move to finish the first level. But for some reason the game glitches out and doesnt let me finish the level. Has anyone else had this problem??

Don't forget that you need to press the middle mouse button for a takedown. On unaware enemies the left MB works too, which confused me a bit.

I just swing the pipe around and it doesnt stab the dude in the back like it should and since theres a time limit in the scene it just restarts over and over, I try being sneaky and crawling over.. I tried rushing over and hitting the guy from behind quick but I always end up swinging the pipe at his back with no takedown effect!!

The glitch is: at best I can get the yellow mouse3 / takedown icon to flash for a second but it doesnt matter the angle or the distance from the target the pipe just doesnt seem to work like the knife.. the nazi has his back to me but I cant advance the scene!! Help!

Okay found a solution thought I would post to help others. If you play on PC and are using a mouse it is a good idea to bind another key to the mouse3 button .. I used Q. Other players who have had difficulty using mouse3 to throw knives or use takedown have had to assign a new button to do the move even if their mouse wheel is functional. Hope this helps someone sorry if the chapter one glitch tagline is misleading thats just when I encountered the problem.. Cheers

Long shot this, but previous id tech engines had difficulty with mouse buttons if you had 1000Hz polling rate for your mouse, 500Hz or less seemed to be optimal.

Up to this point, the game engine allows the player to use Mouse 1, instead of Mouse 3. That is, the normal attack button executes a takedown, provided the notice is on screen. Players become accustomed to this control and are at a loss when it fails to work.

At this point in the game, the player needs to use Mouse 3—the mouse wheel. Push it to execute the takedown.

He was - the game was ignoring it until he re-mapped. Why did you necro a year-and-a-half dead topic and not even read the solution!?
