LazerKraftWerk upgrade (SPOILERS!)
On Chapter 14 I found an upgrade for the LKW.

After you destroy the helicopter, if you go down to the next floor there will be an upgrade in the corner of the room. BJ then picks up a red U-shaped piece and inserts it into the gun.

Does anybody know what it is for?

I think it increases your ammo capacity, but I am not sure.

Yeah, I googled the upgrade, then I found this post. I looked at my ammo, it was 480 max before, after it was 505. You are right, It does increase ammo cap/battery charge.
Edit: I have the game on Xbox One, so you might want to check for yourself seeing as its an unmarked "upgrade". Just to be sure. If you have the perk to increase battery capacity, the new max should be 505 with the red part.

This is weird, I thought I had it, but it turns out I only have 480 energy power instead of 505, I looked everywhere on that location but there was nothing there but I remember picking it up on my first playthrough....

One of the perks gets you more energy for laser weapons. Forget which. I'm guessing the boost from 480 to 505 is due to the perk, not an upgrade but I could be wrong.

Thats really weird, because I have all the perks unlocked....

Cool, of the 6 upgrades thats the only one I missed. Interesting, it doesn't look like its listed on the Wolfenstein wiki I linked.

Also, cool upgrade I missed first 2 playthroughs and found on 3rd turns the laser cutter into a laser pistol. Its found on the prison chapter in the room with the coal.

Its 35 seconds in.

Also, when I got to chapter 14 I didn't find that mysterious red horsehoe shaped upgrade. That video also calls it the 'unknown useless Laserkraftwerk upgrade?' at 6:08 in. REALLY curious about it now. Why does it not show in my game? I checked during the Whyatt timeline, not the Fergus one if that makes a difference. Its also not mentioned much in online guides and such.

The red horseshoe function is that it brings up the total battery charge from 480 to 505.

I missed it on both timeline playthroughs, went back on the Fergus playthrough via chapter select and it was there. Maybe check on the Fergus playthrough? Which timeline did you do first? Maybe that also makes a difference. I did Fergus first but didn't think to check on the Wyatt timeline before I checked on the Fergus one and I don't have a backup profile file or I would check with that one on Wyatt's. I'm on PS4 though.

Try getting to the location without dieing or "loading last checkpoint", for me it did the trick.

I noticed when the level started and I died, that some of the ammoboxes and other stuff were missing in the first room (after the cutscene where you crash in the window). So I started the whole mission over, and didn't die, and everthing whats supposed to be there was there. So I thought it could be the same with the weaponpart, and it was.

This could be it and may explain why I missed it the first time (died a few times) while I got it in another playthrough (more experienced = less/no deaths).
