final boss?

im fighting him under the ground after first phase, how do i kill him? no matter how much i shoot him it doesnt seem to end (first playthrough on hardest difficulty)

I suspect that when you stagger him he stops taking damage for a while, so if you're using rockets and grenades, wait til his stagger animation is finished. You have a bit of visual feedback, ie. how banged up/on fire his mech is.

I just shot everything i had in his general direction till he dropped...(On hard difficulty)

Stop firing once he's staggered. He won't take damage then, you'll only be wasting your ammo. Just make sure you keep him at a distance and ran back and forth between the charging stations.

yeah i jsut beat him right now on uber, apparently just use every bomb on assault, and get lucky with killing him with the lazer was al i had to do (the fire makes it hard to run back n forth with stations on uber sicne they almsot instakill you )

but this felt good that its a difficult boss since i miss that in games

Final boss is a weird one. I just beat the game, EASILY. However, I tried about 10 times yesterday and it seemed impossible. My advice is to grab as much machine gun ammo and those rockets it can shoot in secondary mode, than dual wield those machine guns, set one to rockets and one to bullets... and the key probably is, as mentioned earlier, to not waste any ammo when he's "hurt". I beat him this way in about minute... really fast... before I tried for about 5 minutes and nothing would happen and I would just die. I don't get it.

Use rockets to shoot the glass part where he is sitting in the mech. He will stumble (reload, etc at this time) Once he stands up and starts firing back again I notice I still needed to wait a second or two until another rocket shot counted. I beat it on Uber that way.

This was how I beat him on hard, as well. Basically I ran a circuit around the area and shot at him from right near the recharge stations. He moves really slowly so just shoot him for a while as he slowly comes toward you. When he gets too close run around the outside of the room to the other recharge station and repeat.

It's super cheesy, but I think that's what's expected.

I beat him on Über using dual rocket launchers. It didn't take very long and I believe he dropped in about 20 seconds or so.

This is a bit of an annoying boss fight. He's not that tough, but you are very vulnerable as well. The fires can take you out quite quickly as well as make it hard to keep Deathshead in sight. But my biggest grievance is the checkpoint just before the battle : it kicks in before you get a chance to restock, so before each attempt you have to run around collecting ammo and armour, a process that could take longer than how long you manage to survive in the boss fight or how long it takes to bring down Deathshead. Badly placed checkpoints really kill the flow.
