Not to mention he's playing the guitar left-handed, just like Jimi did in real life, and I don't know any other black guitarist from that period that played left-handed.

He talks about how his father was killed in the war. Jimi's dad was a soldier in WWII. Just in case you needed even more reason to suspect it really was him.
