You waited that long? I thought it would have been obvious when you first see him. Of course that requires you to listen to what he is playing for a bit. The song he plays is "Little Wing", and that is the dead giveaway, as he (Hendrix) wrote it.

Just FYI Hendrix wasn't fully 'black' either. He was actually, if memory serves me right, a quarter Native American and part German, to boot.

Dude, Jimmy Hendrix is the best guitar player of history, made a fusion of blues, hard rock and psychodelia back in the late 60's.

To anyone doubting it's supposed to be someone VERY much like him...

Go look up Hendrix's performance of the Star Spangled Banner and go watch the scene in which J dies.

It might not be exactly him but they were basically going for a guy almost exactly like him.
